The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

Riz2530 - You just made the CIA's Special Activities Division didn't you??...I can tell by your wording...but don't worry, it's our secret.

And Chiral - I wanted to say thanks again for the sheath adaptors and leg strap...I don't have the larger GSOs yet, but when they do arrive I'll be able to carry them at a comfortable ride-height. I highly recommend everyone buy some of these from Chiral, they're very well designed, look great, and he will save you a lot of $$ over other options - send him your cash now!! I also feel the need Chiral, to point out how rude it was of you to ask if the new baby is a boy or a girl....it's 2015 man, the sensitive move is to inquire as to how the baby is choosing to self-identify.

If I told you I would have to kill you...

The self identity joke made me laugh out loud.

Thanks! Its a girl. My other two are a 6 year old girl and a 4 year old boy. Man I have forgotten how small newborns are and didnt realize just how big my older kids have gotten.

I know! I have three, all girls: 6 1/2, 4, and 11 months. They grow fast. Again congrats.

Thanks for the support :) My bad on pigeon-holing the kid so soon ;)

Riz, send me your address, I'll send one of these extensions your way. Again, congratulations!

Congratulations, Riz! Well, congratulations x2, on the job and birth. I remember a while back you were saying how you were working towards an advancement, mist be well earned.

As for the birth, how exciting for the whole Riz clan. I sincerely hope you cut that umbilical cord with your orange handled 5.1 ;)

Riz, that's awesome man! Congratulations on the new addition!!

You got that right bud. I've got two. My boy just headed back for his sophomore year in college. My girl is a high school junior this year. Feels like yesterday they were in diapers.

Well.... Funny you should say that... I used my Les George folder! I wanted to bring the 5.1 but the hospital has a no weapons policy and i figured I could get away with a folder, but not what most would call a big ass knife (my 5.1)

The nurses looked at me like I had two heads!

Bet you'll never get rid of that one.

That is so awesome. I applaud you, sir!

I used the nurses shears for both of my girls. Those cords are tough!

Well played man. Congratulations!

3 coated GSO's popped up on this big auction site, but I forgot the name...................

Starting bid was a penny, but buyout price is outrageously high. FYI

This is off topic, but I just want to say YIKES!! I accidently ended up reading an active thread on whine & cheese recently...I had no idea that this area even existed. Needless to say, shock and disbelief ensued....I did some quick research, realized what was going on, and briskly walked the other way. This SK section and the For Sale-Fixed Blades section is much more my speed/interest, so I guess I just want to say thank you for being here, and thank God I was able to get out of W&C with my soul intact. Wow...what a strange, vicious place - btw, more power to you if any of you guys enjoy that area as well...good on-ya, I'm just still recovering from the shock of it....wow.

I think that the W&C was developed for those people who just could not figure out how to be gentlemanly and cordial in the rest of the forum. Now they have a place to call their own where they can say what they want. There are several communities on BF that I consider a respite from the jr. high crowd that frequent other un-named parts of the forum. Early on I got sucked into some of those discussions hoping to enlighten some. I learned that you can't fix stupid.

so I guess I just want to say thank you for being here

Survive is a nice little corner of the forum.

You guys nailed it. I was thinking the other day I really like the discussion between regulars and how we have some less frequent members popping in occasionally and some of them even sticking around.

Also, because of the nature of Guy's developing company, the subforum here is a lot more dynamic with discussions on new models and release dates and the type of specific excitement that comes from orders arriving. AND the involvement of Guy and Ellie is super cool.

Right on, dudes, right on!

I always like it when someone receives their order, generates a little buzz, and I get to live vicariously for a bit. :)

I would love to report that I received a big package today containing my 4.7, 2 X 4.1s, and my 2.7... but alas, I cannot. On the bright side... at least they're all paid for.

For the last month I've been on the hunt for a 3.5 at a decent price and I've finally found one!

After messing around with all of those try sticks, I came to the realization that a smaller knife might actually come in real handy and I don't think I'll have much of an issue with my numb index finger and the finger pocket. The other plus is knowing that I can legally carry this out here without any chance of getting any flack.
