The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

You definitely can't beat a dangler!
I only flip the clip on knives that I carry during the day and at work because I don't want them to be seen. I wish I could carry my 5 around on a dangler but people out here would cry to much about it.
I love AZ. People don't think twice about knives and guns. I carry my 3.5 daily in my Saddleback Front Pocket Briefcase. I carried a Rat 5 upside down on a 5.11 Rush 12 pack for 2 years. I had a few fun conversations, but nobody seemed concerned. #2A

You're a lucky man! I can't wait to get out of this place. I might be doing a trip back to Colorado Springs in October to visit family and possibly look for places. I'm still pretty dead set on Prescott AZ though. I like the small town feel of that place.

I have carried the 4.1 as is a bunch with no problem, and I also carried the 5.1 quite a bit as is in the woods with very little problem while working fire wood and driving the ATV. But nothing larger. I just last week attached the UKE to the 5.1. I have not carried it a bunch yet, but so fat I like it a lot.

Well today turned out to be great! I finally got results back on my dog and found out her anemia wasn't caused by any form of cancer so that was a huge relief so now I can finally breathe! This little bugger was in the mailbox also!

Now I need to get off my butt and start using it!

I am glad the pup's diagnosis is better than what you were worried about. We lost our best friend Lucy a year ago in June. Cancer sucks!

Hold the phone, dude, what's going on here? That 5 is new? We need details!! Maybe I missed it, but is it previously owned or from the company?

Also, truly good news about your dog. Very very good to hear that. Does this free up any funds for fun stuff? Care to share any dog pics?

So sorry to hear this. Dogs are definitely family.

Thank you for the kind sentiment. She was one in a long line of dogs over the years. But there was something very special about her. She was a Cane Corso Mastiff. The most loyal and protective animal I have ever been around. Our hearts are still broken.

I'm really sorry to here that bud. It's been an emotional roller coaster for the last few weeks with this little brat. She went from having to much energy to almost nothing in a matter of 2 days. Nearly $700 later, the Vet has the diagnosis down to a bad bladder infection.

The 5 is the same one but I just put the natural canvas scales back on. The 3.5 is the new toy to mess around with and hold me over till the new model comes out.
I'm out quite a bit of money so it'll be a while till I can have play money!
Here's a few photos of my kid Gracie.

Got it, very cool! Mail days like that are the absolute best.

Good lookin' pup! Nice to see the pics.

Dogs and knives, gotta love it!! Some of my best friends are four-legged. :)

Sorry to hear about yours Mac. That's hard.

If you get sick of that 3.5 you just send it my way. I'll take real good care of it. I'll oil her up once a week maybe more. I want a bigger boot knife then the necker II. It works good for what I use it for but I want more security.

That GSO 10 is Gracie approved, in case any are wondering. My wife is starting to look into Mastiff rescues. She is not healed from the loss of Lucy, but the pain of living without a dog is too much for her to bear. The problem with these giant breed dogs is that they do not live that long, and cancer can take them in middle age. Ten years is not long enough with your soul mate.

Thanks for sharing pictures of Gracie, and I am glad the vet got it figured out. Human medicine is easy, the patient can tell the doc where it hurts. With animals though, you have to be a pretty good diagnostician.

Haha I don't know if it'll be going anywhere soon but I'll definitely keep an eye out for one!

Mastiffs are sweet dogs for sure and 10 years is definitely not long enough. Going through a rescue has got to be one of the best ways to give a pup a second chance.
It took me 4 years to get over the loss of my old dog Cali (Dirty Callahan), but getting Gracie filled that huge void. I still miss her everyday though. She was an Australia Shepherd and lab mix.

I found out today that Gracie has immune mediated anemia which basically means her immune system kills her red blood cells. She's on a high dose of prednisone to hopefully change that. I'm hoping she doesn't need to go through blood transfusions.
