The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

Damn, that's too bad about the knife. Hopefully things work out, you never know.

The hand me down was years ago I think he's gotten over it as much as he's going too. The other knife I bought him was just a mantle piece.

That would've been a cool thread. I'm guessing it wouldn't be quite fair to other buyers though.

It would have been really cool. I don't know enough about the specific rules. Even Want to Buy postings are outlawed?

Where did the thread get moved to? I go to a blank page when I click on the thread.

Hmmm..... I guess that is a pretty logical place to move it :)

There's so much I haven't seen on this site. I mostly bounce back and forth between here and beckerland, but just the other day I stumbled upon the pirate's cove...................................

Haha I just found it a few weeks ago! There's a ton of stuff I haven't seen yet also.

I got emailed about it. It was explained that to sell knives on here it would have to be the person that has this sub forum. I'm fine with that, I just wanted to give a heads up to those that dont go to the exchange very often. I understand why it was removed, the exchange was created for that.

I figured since I wasn't actually selling and only posting what people wanted or where on the exchange to find them it would be OK. After the email I understand where they're coming from.

I think it's allowed if someone specifically asks in a "recommendation" thread, I know I've posted links to exchange listings in response to such requests... But a thread specifically dedicated to linking exchange threads is a bit much. Bussekin and Buck have sub-sections in the exchange forum for those specific brands, but S!K isn't at the same level, Guy's knives aren't really collector's pieces like those brands... not yet, anyway ;)

I added onto my S!K collection last night. I now own a 3.5, 2X 4.1s, and the newly added 5.0. I have a 2.7, the new spec 4.1, and a 4.7 on order. I might be an addict. My only CPM-20CV is the 3.5, with which I skinned, dressed, and fully processed a mule deer this week. The edge held perfectly, and it required only a few passes on a ceramic rod to refine he edge. All of the others are CPM3V.
