The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

Forte, that is awesome. I want to be like you when I grow up :)
I may need to be sedated to keep myself from buying too many more of these bad boys. I've been fortunate to be on the S!K side of some trades, and have been known to pay a premium, too. I'm not a large knife guy, but that 10... Oh, my! I need a 5.1, and premium scales on a 3.5... And... And...

I was just looking at the exchange a minute ago. Very interesting to look at, especially today. The exchange is pretty neat.

On an unrelated note, is anyone after a clip point 7/7?

I had an epiphany last night; I need to own a GSO 4.1 and am not willing to wait for the next production run. I would really prefer 3v, but could live with 20 cv.

This will be my first time buyin a S!K (or anything other than Fiddkeback) on the used market. Where should I look? Is it ok to post a "want to buy" on the Facebook group? I really like the community here, and would prefer to deal with folks from this sub-forum. Any advice you bound proved to a used knife buying noob would really be appreciated.

Great epiphany

I love the community here, but we're bound by overarching forum rules and can't really do any dealings between just us, it all has to happen on the exchange. The Facebook group is pretty great and I've seen some nice deals happen there. I'd say go for it!

Cool! I have been a member of the FB group for a LONG time, but I do not think I have ever posted there. I just wanted to touch base here and get feedback before I started posting there... You will see a post from me there soon.

That's a nice looking 7/7 but all I can say is ouch! I guess I don't understand collector prices.

Oh ok. I was just on there the other day and noticed them. I know stuff sells fast on there though!

HOLY BALLS, I was searching for something in our subforum last night and found myself in the old S! thread in General Discussion that came before our subforum. WOW did that place get nasty. I didn't really have the perspective on S!'s history here in Bladeforums. It made me more thankful for our current community and the state of Guy's business!

There was a lot of impatience and bellyaching in that thread

That's the exact reason I stayed away from joining on here until a few months ago. All of you guys keep it nice and respectable now and I appreciate it.

I remember this coming up before, but it was kind of vague. I think this is mostly a different crowd here. I'm so glad the overall climate is more friendly and positive.

Very nice! I'm looking forward to seeing how the project develops
If you find yourself in a typing mood I'd be interested in a run down of everything in the collection that might not be immediately recognizable.

Do you think of this storage method as an easy way to see and grab what you need as well as long term storage?

I seem to have found this place relatively after all the drama, and couldn't be more happy that i did. It was the first sub forum i posted with any regularity and over 80% of my total posts are here. I think the regulars always have something fun to share, and new people bring in great questions and differing perspectives. perspective being a funny thing. A business practice that is accepted/even lauded by some companies is derided by others. Assuming a small midtech should output the same quantities of knives as a benchmade or spyderco, but with higher consistency:confused:....sigh digress. great place this subforum!!!
