The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

Again with the good parenting :D
Did you say already how old your little dudes are?
My girls are 1.5 and 4. The older one at least recognizes "Dark Vader" when she sees commercials in tv.

The more I look at a 5, the more I wish I bought one.

Im trying to get my 4 year old to watch all 6, then Im going to take him to see the new one.
I do love my 5. Maybe you can find someone selling one for a reasonable price here or elsewhere.

Like redwood, I'll be waiting for some good discussion down the road.

My boys are 11, 8, and 6 months old today!

Hey Team, we weren't sure where to post this so I figured this must be the place. Has anyone ever heard of a knife maker named Nick Johnson, from the St. Louis area? I guess he has only been around for a few years. We have tried searching the internet for his contact information but he doesn't appear to exist. We are hoping someone from around here might know how to get a hold of him.

Why are we looking, you ask? Follow the links and check out numbers 10 and 12:

Also, no spoilers! We are waiting to see it once the GSO-5.1 orders are all out. The closest theater is 40 minutes away so it will be our reward for good behavior.

shameless.... I would start with user jimdo, as he had to get the knife from somewhere (or fabricated said imaginary knife maker) It is really sad that they essentially uglied up the knives then upcharged....

Those look like rehandled Survive! Knives to me. Wow. I hope that's not the case.... Good luck in finding out the details. Hopefully someone here can point you in the right direction. If that is someone pirating your work, it is time to expose him...

Ok ok, I won't talk about that part in the movie with that guy on that one planet where that super awesome and surprising thing happens ;)

As far as the link and those knives, wow. Wow. That is blatantly wrong. In the knife world, are there copyrights or anything like that? What kind of action can you take?

Guy has a message in to him asking about the maker. He also typed up a bit of information about it but BF won't let him post it for some reason.

For folks new to the community, in 2013 we had a box of GSO-5 blanks get "lost" in transit. While UPS was trying to find the box, a customer pointed us to an ebay listing for "Missouri Mule Skinners." Apparently, the box was sold at a lost freight auction. We pointed the listing out to UPS, who deemed the case "closed" because the knives were found. They returned 5 of the 62 blades to us, in pretty poor condition, with no other compensation. These are from that batch, no doubt.

That's just low. It takes a special kind of scum to do this kind of stuff plus UPS is a huge joke of a company ran by thieves.
I read a story about a guy that had a custom Mazda Rotary motor made by a company and it was "lost" in transit by UPS. It was found on Craigslist not long after.

Guy wanted me to add that he made the mistake of telling the ebay seller that the blades were CPM-3V. Otherwise, these blades would probably be listed as stainless steel like the ebay listing. The ebay seller said at the time that he had already sold most of the blades and only had the 5 remaining which he would happily return to UPS.

I'd say, once you re handle a knife. You become the new maker.

Like I said, I don't know enough about how this stuff works to know if that is right or not. Modding then reselling for profit doesn't seem ok and taking credit for it seems wrong. If you don't design a blade shape and dimensions and purposeful thickness then just put a new handle, how is it "yours"? If you were joking, sorry to take this so far. EDIT: Now I get it, Tinbanger, you are a butt :D

I do have to give the guy credit though, he found the hidden lanyard hole!

He may have found it but didn't cut the scales properly to expose it right. I hope y'all get to the bottom of it. Its pretty low to steal someone's blade bit to portray the work as their own is disgusting. May the blade gods smile upon y'all as he cuts an appendage off.
