There will be water in all the flooded swampy areas that I hunt longer into the season. Last season places that I normally take a kayak into were only ankle deep. Also by this time in the season I had to bust up ice to make spots to put my decoy spread out. Theoretically... If it doesnt get as cold and the water stays liquid, the birds may stick around longer too. Also snow covers up food sources, forcing birds to move south.

I do not prefer choils and I have absolutely no need for another knife right now, but if I had free cash, I would have jumped on it!

I just bought one in CPM-20CV for retail + shipping from a guy in the forums. Like you, I didn't "need" another knife... But I sure did want one. I know they will be available after the starters have shipped, but I've missed the window too many times not to grab one while I could get it. That's my rationale anyway.
