The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

I guess I would be inclined to turn this over to the FBI for interstate marketing of stolen goods. Jimdo may be innocent in all of this, but I suspect that if he is facing Federal Prison he will tell the feds everything he knows about this supposed knife maker that does not sharpen his knives. If Jimdo is not innocent, Federal Prison is where he belongs.

Hey Tex, have you broken in your snow shovel yet? My best friend from high school and college married a texan and now lives in Lubbock. He has more snow than myself up here in the frozen tundra!

We aren't pointing any fingers. But it is weird that a google search nets no results. I was hoping someone who spends more time in more places of the blade world might have heard of a Nick Johnson knife maker.

I wasted a good 45 minutes yesterday looking online, all i could find were more forums which this guy posted his "for sale" thread...

It was 80° on Christmas then two days later Texas saw four different weather zones. Blizzard in north Texas. Winter storms in west Texas. Sever thunderstorms and tornados from central to east Texas. And sever flooding in east Texas. (My area) we had 2-3 possible tornados but no one injured to my knowledge. However Rowlett, Texas received a bad tornado which resulted in fatalities. Please pray for all the families effected.

Wow, I had no idea the weather was so violent. I had only heard about snow. Hope everyone stays safe from here on.

Holy crap. I was just catching up on the news and it's nasty out there. I hope you're in a decent area.

Should be high enough. It would have to be a pretty massive flood.

That's a good thing with all this crazy weather. I have a feeling it's only going to get worse with this whole El Niño crap going on soon. I'm just glad I'm in a old raised foundation house out here.

i read a NOAA article about the El Niño effects and how the weather would change in various areas... They were spot on for our area, lots of rain and moderate temps which is weird this time of yr! nothing as violent and chaotic as the midwest though :(

If i recall, the elnino years were years we had some pretty big snow storms once it finally cools off.

I think you guys on the east coast need a break anyways! At least the Carolina's do!
I'm really hoping we get a ton of water out here in California. We need a good cleansing! My house is over two feet of the ground and it's on flat land so im hoping it'll dump rain.

i think the last big one did bring snow storms, apparently this year its pushing warm air up the east coast resulting in a warmer wetter winter this was the map i was looking at

That will be good for duck hunting!

what is the idea weather? just warmer? or does the added moisture also help?

I think we are both in the 40% higher chance of rain /40% higher chance of warmer temps range

would be interesting if the moisture hits the same time as a cold snap though....shudder...

There will be water in all the flooded swampy areas that I hunt longer into the season. Last season places that I normally take a kayak into were only ankle deep. Also by this time in the season I had to bust up ice to make spots to put my decoy spread out. Theoretically... If it doesnt get as cold and the water stays liquid, the birds may stick around longer too. Also snow covers up food sources, forcing birds to move south.
