The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

That sounds like a great park! I wish there was something like that out here because there's no way I'll be touching those jumps at the old house. I'll check out the Haro Cruiser for sure. They still make some great stuff.

I got the steel reserve 1.3 or something.

Man I hate to take this in a sad direction but in the last few days three of my brothers in blue were killed in ambush style attacks, two of them in my own state were shot today when called to deal with a subject in a panera in Harford County, MD. Pray for their families and brothers and sisters in blue. The only thing that is good about it (and honestly there is nothing good about it) s that the suspect is dead. I hope the Deputies got to kill him and that he didnt kill himself. I am full of anger right now. I want to type out a major rant, more like a manifesto, but its against the forum rules.

Man I don't even know what to say there Riz. I can't get my mind around what drives people to such things. My thoughts and prayers go out to those families, and to you as well my friend.

said it better than i could. I am constantly astounded how people get to that point where they think that is a good or viable option... no one wins...

Truly tragic news. I'm sure it wasn't fun typing out, but I'm glad you could share. Prayers are definitely going to the fallen heroes and the families left behind.

I just read about the Harford attack, says one of the deputies who died managed to kill the gunman in an exchange of fire, the deputy died later at the hospital, the first officer was shot in the head after sitting down next to the guy to talk to him....

:(

That was Ash Wednesday, wasn't it? Candles will be lit for those officers and their families, prayers for all our civil servants putting themselves in the line of fire.

For those in this area, the Nations gun show is in town right now (I truly hope bringing this up is not in poor taste, it is not my intent). I hadn't been in at least 2 years but had heard it had gotten better. I took a concealed carry class today, and they were next to each other so I popped in. They FINALLY started getting decent knife vendors. We aren't talking anything close to approaching a proper knife show, but the last time i went they had lt wrights and then a bunch of zombie slaying Chinese dragon knock offs. I was able to handle a sebenza for the first time, a couple of newer ZT's tons of legit benchmades etc etc. this all brings be to the stall where a wilderness survival training expert had a variety of products including the benchmade 162 bushcrafter. This was the knife that started me looking at similar products and eventually led me to survive! He declared it the best knife he had ever handled! Based on many reviews I can understand why he might say that...but damn if i wasn't pissed that i didn't have my 4.1 on me to show him! I decided to take the polite "nod and smile" approach, instead of potentially coming off like a know-it-all knife snob.

At any rate I thought id share my funny little story along with the PSA that the NGC doesn't suck as badly as it used to!!

Also they still had a ton of the lesser knives and at one point they made an announcement to be on the look out for a woman fleeing with a stolen red dragon sword!!

That's not something you see every day, probably worth the price of admission right there, ha :)

Our local show is a lot like that (minus red dragon lady). I do like looking through the bayonets, though. Some of those are pretty cool.

I used to love going to the gun shows with my grandpa. I should make the trip down to tx and visit him.

Very cool, redwood! I've never been anywhere that has good knives available to look at and hold. I'm thankful for the internet!
