The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

Grabbed a new baby so I can give my 3.5 something to field dress.

Looks like I just got a pay raise when storms come through :)

Nice! I always wanted a 45-70 guide gun. What caliber you got there?

45-70. This is the 1895SBL as opposed to the guide gun which is the 1895G. This has a bigger magazine, big loop, upgraded sights, laminated stock, and stainless everything. Same barrel length and caliber though.

Standard, is your name standard as in "standard bikes"? I see you have the s&m logo now. I've had a few of those bikes over the years. Always had the slam bars and pitch forks no matter what bike.

Yes sir! I spent most of my time riding bikes trying to chase the dream of becoming pro but work was more important and I was never as good as the others. I had a few Standard Bykes but they never stood up to any of the S&M's of Volumes that I had. I think I'm going to start looking for an old S&M Dirtbike frame to build a cruiser. That was my personal favorite.
I'll have to scan some old photos some day but here are a few shots of my old house. These are the Lakin BMX Trails that my buddy has built in front of the house.

Those are some great looking trails. We did quite a bit of dirt jumping also, I don't think we got as crazy as that. Once we got a little older we started doing a lot more park riding. I sold my last bike I really ride with to a kid down the street! I'm still trying to get it back, haha.it was a kink freebird. Yeah I ride with some pretty good guys, but I want ever as good. The kids these days are just amazing to watch ride.

Kink makes one hell of a nice bike!
The kids these days are making us old timers look stupid! I got out of riding about 8 years ago after tearing a few tendons in my right knee. The bike was sold and I regret the hell out of it but my beach cruiser is so much easier to ride. Maybe a PK Ripper or Big Ripper will be the way to go for me. I had one in the 80's but some idiot stole it. They make good cruising bikes.

Bitter sweet day today. Sent the GSO 6 to her new owner but I sent the cash for GSO 10 out! I already ordered a set of natural canvas scales and a Sagewood dangler for it. Time to chop some stuff up!

The memories will last! And the 10 will help soften the blow!

I've been mountain biking for about 10 years now on and off. It's pretty fun, last year they build a bike park with a bunch of dirt jumps and pump tracks. So I went and picked up a Haro 26" dirt jumper, is pretty fun.

Very cool! You're talking about an old spec 10? Bittersweet, but exciting!
Yep it's the one that is a factory second with orange G10 handles on Facebook! I really missed the one I had so I couldn't pass it up.

I hope so! That 6 was almost perfect but I really want another chopping monster. Plus it'll be fun to try to do a trystick with it.

That sounds like a great park! I wish there was something like that out here because there's no way I'll be touching those jumps at the old house. I'll check out the Haro Cruiser for sure. They still make some great stuff.

Plus you'll have a sexy new 4.7 soon right?

Yep! That's what really helped motivate me to let it go. My trusty 3.5 plus the other two will keep me happy for a long time. I might look stupid carrying all 3 at the same time though!
