The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

I know how you feel. The day I went to the barber and he didn't charge me for a hair cut, but charged me a finders fee, I had to start cutting my own hair.

Now this beautiful bald dome of mine is suffering with subpar ball caps. Oh the torture in the Texas sun.

You guys are hilarious talking about your hair! I'm so glad TR mentioned a mullet! Great start to my day.

The guy on instagram is also pretty active in the Facebook group. It seemed like he was waiting for Guy's approval to move ahead on the shirts, so I don't think he would purposely try making money off of Guy's design without his blessing. I had seen Guy praise his designs before, so Guy is at least aware, I have no idea about legal stuff though.

Secondary market hats are a double edged GSO. If a fan could design them and find some maker the we'd finally get hats, but at the cost of not having them officially to Guy's perfectionist standards.

Finders fee....actually did lol at that one :)

Riz, those look pretty nice. I just about won't buy a hat unless it has the adjustable velcro strap any more. The old plastic adjustments never held up for me. I'm glad more makers are using the velcro strap.

So there's a dude on IG - bkyoungus - that just made a GSO 5.1 shirt. Was that sanctioned? I know nothing about making shirts, but they can't be far from hats (I mean technically/creatively, not geographically or anatomically...). Anyway, how has this not happened yet?!

Hats just became more important to me cuz I snagged a thread on my best trucker hat this weekend while camping and need a new one. My Gonzaga Bulldogs baseball team hat with a bulldog over o patch the shape of Montana got "ruint" and looks like a pony tail scrunchy. Since I no longer have a mullet, no scrunchy required. Because I do have a little more chorme on my dome, a hat IS required. Let's get this done!

Yep, he's been in touch with us and we've given him the thumbs up. Or at least I think we have, I passed that on to Guy to give the final approval.

That sounds familiar... did this same brand come up before or does Guy have a habit of this? :D

It's the same company mentioned before. They do make a nice hat which seems like it would hold up for a long time. There was just a couple small details he mentioned. Guy was told to look overseas to achieve that level of attention. They make enough hats in a month that they weren't interested in looking into the potential improvement. That philosophy is not one Guy understands real well so we're a little stuck in trying to find an alternative that is produced in the US.

if these hats don't come soon i'm going to have to schedule that hair transplant surgery. my younger sister said if i didn't have enough she would donate some

Tex, definitely get one. They are extra light weight and the mesh sides breath really well. I have worn that one a ton ove the last 10 months or so and its held up great. Ive washed it once. Wore it in the shower got it soaked. Took it off shampooed the F out of it. Rinsed it really well, put it back on my head for the shower to mold it to my dome and then carefully removed it so it would hold that shape and hung it to dry.

The mesh vents are sweet in the heat. It really does help cool you off. Just walking creats an air flow that you can feel. The brim is made of a pretty tough plastic because everytime it sits in a car and gets super hot, it reverts to its gently curved factor shape and not my aggressive roll. I have bought a second and am keeping it on standby incase I lose or ruin this one. I may get a black and a coyote one at some point

Very nice Hat Riz! On a seperate note, I got a shipping notification today!!!

Inwas wondering that. I bet it was an accident. Ive locked threads without realizing it before

All this talk about hats made me look through the pile sitting in my closet, forgot I even had one that had the Velcro for the patch.
It will have to do until the real deal gets made someday-
