The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

Ya we treed 1 for 3. Nice bear, about a 200# boar, but we were in a draw unit and the tag holder wanted to hold out for a bigger one. There are some really big bear in there, but it's like with big deer, it's tough to come by the giants and I think he may regret that later.

Man it's great that your whole family shoots. I'll bet that makes for a lot of nice days out. I hope you get to sling one at that new buck.

If it is PMs you need to delete your sent messages as well as your inbox

Silver, sorry for the delayed response. I tried to PM you last night and the forum went down. Then, when I tried again before I had to leave for my delivery route this morning, it gave me the message that you had chosen not to receive PMs or your box was full so I assumed it was full. Did you inadvertently turn off PMs?

I'll try to resend right now and see if it goes, though it may not be useful at this point.

Cheers bud.

Thanks guys, I got the PM now! Must have taken care of itself after the work on the site last night and today.

HK, no worries!

Reply coming later tonight!

Just finished up my second CPK Field Knife sheath and decided to type up a build along thing. I could've drawn up another sheath and been halfway done in the time it took to type and format that dang thing. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...er-Sheath-Walkthrough?p=16489211#post16489211

Next up on the docket is a 4.7 sheath. I think it's gonna be another fully carved one but with a squared off butt opposed to the rounded one I did for Mr. Hugh the Serious Morel.

That's some killer work on that sheath Grogimus!

MUCH appreciated, I'm a lame sort of fellow and thrive on good-on-ya's :D Sad but true. I've got a sketch of something similar to the morel carved piece but instead of just being all gnarly fingered he's going to have a severed rabbit's head in his hand. I haven't decided on a name for him but his title will be "the Diplomat". It's gonna be on a 4.7 sheath with a squared off end like the one I posted up had. The rounded end is more elegant but I run out of space to carve my goofy shit into it.

Far better then I can do. I believe you had one of a bad ass looking tree, right? Either way those look awesome! When you gonna make a matching pair for my 7/7 & 3.5?

Well, that will depend on my longevity for the night. It would be a fun project but I may have abrogated my ability to be here. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I think I'm in the right, but that's what they all say right?:)

Haha! There's no problem with wanting a nice pat on the back!
Your next sheath idea sounds pretty damn epic and I can't wait to see it!

I finally talked myself into visiting my old roommates dad today. I still can't believe it's been a year since he was taken from us.
This was a man that would give you the shirt off of his back if he thought you needed it more than him. I honestly hope to grow up to be half the man this guy was.

I've got a 3.5 on order but the 7/7 was too much a straight combat knife for me to order. If I can ever figure out a way to speed up the process though, I would be honored to make some sheaths for that pair.

That is the best tribute I could imagine on my headstone. Cheers to him and you.

He was definitely well loved by his family and friends. He did a great job of teaching a lot of us that anger isn't the answer, but even after a year, I still want to gut the bastard that killed him. At least he died trying to defend another mans life.

It's amazing how little life means to so many people. From taking it for granted or having the indecency to take it away from someone else. Sorry for Mr. Swanson's family and friends, cause in the end they are the ones left in pain, and suffering from such a great loss.

Yeah man. I am sorry for your loss. Its pretty messed up that you can survive Viet-Nam and then lose your life to some shitbag here in the greatest country on earth.

I ran my first Half Marathon today. The Navy-Air Force Half in DC. I was impressed, there was a ton of amputee wounded warriors running it. MAD RESPECT!
