it was a nice day for a walk

Looks like a man's just rewards, TX!

Hey Robin, tell us more about that old wreck!!
Happy thanksgiving!

Hi Charlie
I imagine it's pretty early, likely Sheffield, I bought it for 2 bucks from an antiques shop who brought all their stock from Britain. The blade takes a razor edge, the stag looks like early Sheffield, pitted badly, iron butt cap. I have always thought it was a rose pruner. I love wrecks :D

Best regards

Robin

What a Sunday show!

I can just imagine what George Westinghouse had in his pocket. The second is a tribute to Mr. Westinghouse by Nikola Tesla ( from a book c.1914)

Quite an "electric" tribute, Gevonovich!

Thanks, Robin; that is a cool wreck!

Tell us about the Opinel, rinos! More pics??

Not much background for a picture, but this knife has been in my pocket for about 6 months, and has been a stellar performer. No sharp edges to snag (sunk joints); single spring, so it is slim and light. I hardly open the coping blade because the wharncliffe does it all so well!
I ranted about this knife when I first got it, and it proved to exceed all my expectations!
Enjoy that nice patina; I sure do. One other thing, this knife doesn't scare anyone, when I take it out!!

Went out for a nice early fall walk through the park, brought my trapper along for picnic duty. We saw one of my favorite plants of the area, it has spiral shaped seeds that make it spin as they fall to the ground "drilling" the seed into the ground, pretty remarkable piece of engineering found in nature!

GREAT knife Vic. I never knew you could get their 2-blade trappers with a lanyard hole.
How about some more GEC on this early Sunday morning. Don't mind my butt-ugly patinas.
