The ultimate knife movie.

Best "big Knife" movie is Rob Roy. The sword fight at the end of that movie is my favorite. Magnificant Seven is the first movie I saw that a knife was a big player. One time bringing a knife to a gun fight was the thing to do. Most fun movie with a knife was Dundee's movie. I've tryed to make a sheath like his for my Buck Special 119. Also don't forget The Patriot Some wild knife and tomahawk fighting in that movie.

I have to agree about Rob Roy. It came out the same year as Braveheart, which got all the hype. I thought Rob Roy was a better movie with better character development. The sword fights in this were great. Definitely rent this if you have not seen it.

I'm sure it has already been mentioned, but to me the ultimate movie and one responsible for stoking the knife fires is the "Iron Mistress".:thumbup::D

EXPOSURE (as has been said before). It is a pure knife movie and I don't know why it's so hard to get ahold of. FIRST BLOOD and THE EDGE are right up there - I think I read somewhere that in both of those movies, the 'knife was like a character.'

I was a knifeoholic before these movies came out,but these pushed me over the edge. All the Rambos',Croc.Dundee,Predature,Seagalls ship flick-can't remember the Damn name,Conan 1@2,Blind Fury,Cyborg,Cobra,Highlander, blade, and Kill Bill vol.1@2.

Several folk have mentioned Exposure... this makes me wish it was on DVD! :(

Though swords take center stage, there's also glimpses of several cool knives in Ong Bak 2... there's a silat fighter with two kerambit, and a few e-nep looking blades here and there, and likely others I can't recall.

The Hunted that was all about knife fighting and making their own custom knife. The end fight scene is with make shift knives too. It has Tommy Lee Jones as an actor in it.

Yes, it had a somewhat far-fetched improvised-forging scene with Benicio Del Toro's character.

How about 'Nameless" aka Timebomb(I think) It got a write up in Tactical Knives years ago. Some very cool toys in that flic.

The original Rambo 'First Blood'. With that incredible Jimmy Lile blade. Stallone doesn't get enough credit for what that character did for the knife industry as a whole.

Didn't read all the responses but MR an MRS Smith watching it right now, boy she can throw a knife;

Also the Punisher.

Heck, Mr and Mrs Smith has eight knives and two guns and a grenade on the DVD cover!

Could someone point me to 'exposure' IMDB link? The searchword seems to be too vague..

I really liked the spartan knife Val Kilmer had in Spartan.

and as Finn, maybe I am biased but one of my favourite knife scenes in Finnish movie Rukajärven Tie when Long Range Patrol tries to re-unite main elements in the end of movie and patrol storms soviet positions, one soviet tries to bayonet Finn, who grabs his puukko deflects bayonet on side and strikes with his puukko. Long rifle with big rat tail bayonet is not good combination in close combat ^^

and of course traditional:

Predator

Rambo's

Desperado

The Hunted ( even end spoils movie since no way you can make knife in back wood without modern tools but knife design was great and early movie had some very nice scenes of knife using )

Well MacGyver did had knife and he was the reason why I got my first Victorinox which

started me to get knives in first place (albeit MacGyver isn't movie )

StarGate SG-1 Jaffa double blade knives seem familiar from elsewhere and look very nice.

There's always bothered me in proof of life: There's scene where one guard gets his throat slit. But one mercenary doing it picks leather man, opens it, takes blade closes it grabs guy from behind and cuts sentinels throat with leatherman WHILE he had perfectly good tactical combat knife on his thigh with at least 8" blade... Now who the heck would start messing with Leatherman in such situation if you have good fixed blade on your belt?

and the Scene in National treasure where Cage uses nice Spyderco to remove brick from the wall to get Franklins glasses.

Not really a "knife movie" but Mark Wahlberg's character Bob Lee Swagger in the movie Shooter almost whips out a SOG Twitch XL.

Then, later in the movie he is seen with a SOG Daggert 2 on his hip:

Did not read the whole thing but hey the FAN...he was a knife salesman and baseball nut! Remember it????

2. Under siege 2. (There is very nice lineup of knives in this movie: Gerber MK Dagger (I or II), a MT-UDT and a knife from Mad-dog, not quite sure which one)

This one sticks in my head a lot. I remember there being this cool knife
fight with the Gerber MKII at the end that was sweet.
