The ultimate knife movie.

Lots of good knifeplay in Seraphim Falls - very nice bowie and a movie I very much enjoyed.

The last chapter of seraphim falls is infuriating, beyond idiotic, betrays both main characters and turns the whole movie into a bloated crap metaphor for the civil war.

I agree that the metaphorical aspects at the end were overdone and unnecessary. But the theme (revenge and forgiveness), actors, and setting, I thought, were well done. To each his own.

there's not too many modern movies that pay good attention to the blades.

An old 1957 movie "The Pride And the Passin" with Frank Sinatra, a young and vuluptous Sophia Luren, and Cary Grant. Period piece that is set in Napolianic war era Spain, with lots of very big navaja's and a pretty decent fight scene/navaja duel.

In "The Naked Prey" Cornell Wilde has a great bush knife/panga fight scene with one of the natives who are hunting him down. Wilde was dicovered by Hollywood when he was giving fencing lessons and coaching actors in blade use. He did a good job with a blade.

The scene were Sidney pulled out his Italian switchblade and “Popped” it open  inspired the single greatest knife “fad” in American history. Every guy in the country had to have one. Every guy I knew had several. Pres. Ike and Congress past one of the strongest laws ever to ban pushbuttons. :grumpy:

Best "big Knife" movie is Rob Roy. The sword fight at the end of that movie is my favorite. Magnificant Seven is the first movie I saw that a knife was a big player. One time bringing a knife to a gun fight was the thing to do. Most fun movie with a knife was Dundee's movie. I've tryed to make a sheath like his for my Buck Special 119. Also don't forget The Patriot Some wild knife and tomahawk fighting in that movie.

I liked it very much up until the end (bad aftertaste, you know, the fury :D). Same story, but much better script is The Outlaw Josey Wales.
