That order thread sure is flying! :eek: I have to say, that I think all the Johnny-Come-Latelys, and the members who don't even post in this sub-forum, have got a bit of a cheek expecting TWO knives! o_O

This is an unofficial count, but will help us immensely to get the show on the road!! You are not ordering at this point!!
Post only if you;
>1 Have been a member for 3 months (since Feb. 1st!!)
>2 Have posted outside of the sales forums at least 25 times!!
> Choose 1 or 2 knives (the limit!!)

Sample post:
{2 BF Knives please!}

P.S. Keep our lives simple; don't add any comments, only post once, and make sure you qualify!!!! We need this count!!
P.P.S. This is not a contract!!
I'm curious: does this mean 3 months and 25 posts...or 3 months or 25 posts?

Right?
Don't know who they are and certainly can't vouch for their intentions with an extra knife... cough... cough... flip... cough...

Yeah, subtle! :rolleyes:

I'd have thought that some of those folks who don't qualify, and are maybe hoping for a favourable nod from the mods, might be better just trying to order one knife, and hoping they get lucky :rolleyes::thumbsup:

I suspect most everyone put down for two knives with high hopes. Two knives for everyone would seemingly cut into the gec production quite a bit. Two is hopeful, not to mention, non binding.

FYI - there were 411 of the 2019 BF knives made...and that was an epic forum knife. 519 of the 2017 forum knife, 346 made in 2016, 354 in 2014, 173 in 2013, 262 in 2012, and 191 in 2011 (also rather epic). These are all the GEC made forum knife metrics anyway.
Unless the numbers start surpassing 600, I doubt there will be any issues on the manufacturing side. I guess it would be more a matter of the business plan and if it started impacting their normal production schedule (don't hinder those 83's!!!).
And you can count on ~10% of those who chime in to back out of the commitment (happens every year).

This is only my opinion. But with the numbers already being mentioned on the thread asking for requests just to get an idea, and with the overall interest in the forum knife, and not knowing production numbers, i would suspect numbers may be limited to one knife per request. But that is only my opinion, and what would i know.:rolleyes::).

Here come all the questions:
“What about me? I’ve been here 4 months but only have 24 posts!”
“Can I get one? This is my first post but I’ve been a member since dickety-two!”
“Does this rash look like Elvis to you?”

They are there every year. It is to be expected and for good reason (we make bad ass forum knives!).
At the end of the day, does it really change anything? :)

Last I saw we were looking at a Barlow with fancy bolsters and sawcut covers. I went through and saw posts about glitter and stuff, where are we at? Is there actually a design?

There will be no glitter or serrated blades or any poppycock of that nature! :)
Good to hear, thnx. Next question is, will it be an easy process to get one in Canada? Last few required far too much effort. Before that it was nice and simple.

This is an easy fix - in accordance with tradition, there should be two grades of knife.

First grade, for the long term members only, all polished up and shiny. Every knife an exact carbon copy of the other.

The other, a clear second grade, for the short term members and various lurkers and hangers-on, with a more rustic finish - unfinished bolsters and whatever scraps of bone GEC has lying around from other runs.
