Stabilised spalted hackberry would look amazing on a folder.

Right?
Don't know who they are and certainly can't vouch for their intentions with an extra knife... cough... cough... flip... cough...

To be fair, I joined in january 2019, and was able to get a BF86, not entirely sure of the parameters that year but I was at best cutting it close. But here it is 2 years later completely un-flipped, I wish I had ordered 2, well, just because I would currently like 2 of them. We've all seen these things go 500 or more so I'm sure there are some flippers in the batch, but given my experience they're probably not all bad.

It's not going to be much fun for whoever has to weed their way through the sticky, the posting profiles of some of those posting there are a joke! o_O A feller just asked for 2 knives - his 26th post on BF (half within the first hour) - first post was yesterday, and not a single post is more than one sentence long, most are 1-3 words o_O
And they be the treacherous reef and jagged rocks, the shoals and shallows Mr Waynorth navigates....youve sailed with us on many voyages Mr Black! Ye should know by now of the limpets that cling to our hull.

You're a contributor here my friend, and hopefully a few of the new folks will be too  The behaviour of some of them already stinks though :( Knives have been my life, but there are more important things in life than knives

Well said shipmate! :D :)

I should know, and usually ignore it (I barely contributed to the past 2 year's Traditional knife threads, and didn't order either), but some people really take the p#%$!

Yeah, but he's SNEAKY and SMART, and knows how to game the system.... and NOBODY will notice!
Now you know why I despise flippers....

I have two thoughts:
1) I think that would be fun to try to sniff out the legitimate requests. Something of a less-significant Sherlock Holmes activity.
2) I'm glad the forum cares enough to try and keep the forum knife legitimate.

I do really enjoy these forums- even the entertainment that these fair weather members bring.

Is there a way that we can make sure that Charlie and those that are putting the work in for this, receive one free of charge?
I would be fine with extra cost added to my purchase or going in on a side-pot for the respective parties.

Running the long con, I see. ;)

Just joshin' witcha', you're a good egg.

I've certainly shaken my head a few times these past few weeks! ;)

I have to say, if I had recently come across this forum, and was interested in traditional knives, or even if I was a long-time lurker, or active on one of the other sub-forums, I might think it was reasonable to request a knife, but TWO?! That's like crashing a wedding, and absolutely stuffing your face with food while everyone else stands in line! o_O It seems that some folks only care about grabbing a knife, or the profit they can make from selling it, rather than contributing to this forum, and being respected by their fellow knife-lovers :( I have no doubt that the mods will weed out some of these individuals, but it's a shame that they have to, and that people can't just show a bit more class

Great analogy... :D
Perhaps there should be an additional requirement for ordering a second knife.
I stated that I was in for two, just in case one of the regulars somehow misses out. (Where you been, @T. Erdelyi ?) If we end up going with smooth white bone, I may feel the need to put a narwhal on one. :D

For me...I said I would take two, but that was mostly to get the count up so we had enough for the order. Which yes. I would pay for both and not back out. :) I remember in the past that there were questions about whether there would be enough orders for the company to make a run.

I would be completely happy with 1, or even zero, if it means that someone else would be happier with it. :)
