Well, the the current sign up thread is at it states, just a useful way to gauge interest for more concrete negotiations with GEC on numbers. Clearly there will be sufficient interest and new eligibility requirement MAY be put forward in the future by those organising this project, not by observers here.
It asks people not to add comments there....and post just once. It is not an ordering thread nor a contract. It makes very clear who can/should sign up and who not: 3 months membership plus at least 25 posts, you may chose ONE or TWO knives. Pretty simple.
Therefore, if somebody does fulfil these requirements there is actually no need or justification for people to start debating whether or not others 'qualify' are 'legitimate' have served some odd manner of apprenticeship in the Traditional Forum nor to speculate wildly as to the intentions or motives of somebody having the temerity to want to order 2 knives. It is off-putting and without any real evidence either. I ordered just one, subject to final details. Why?? Rude question, my present financial state will not allow me to order more, legit?
It should be axiomatic that this knife is a Traditional style knife yet it is made possible by Bladeforums as a whole, it carries the Bladeforums stamp or etch and thus must be open to all who want a knife and meet the stated current requirements. The numbers of people in Traditionals is very likely insufficient to meet the minimum numbers so that a current SFO would be feasible. Unless 'we' all start ordering 4 knives each, greedy flippers!

I remember that in the past there may have been some difficulties in reaching the minimum number. Conversely, when Buck stepped forward in 2018 to offer a knife and Buck enthusiasts and others beyond just the confines of the Traditional forum showed interest, there were those who started gibbering about 'outsiders' and people taking over the 'Traditional' knife. It's a hobby, a pastime not dogma or some absurd abstracted litmus test. What next, an initiation ceremony or nomination by an existing Traditionalist to be allowed to be able to order a knife?

What is more menacing, a High Horse or a Trojan Horse.....
At the end, when you have the Forum knife in your hand, all this will fall away, all the puffing and snide remarks, point scoring, faux outrage, thin-skinned fuming will evaporate. Because after all is said and done, it's a knife- or knives.
Here's three of my favourites, the only similarity they have is that they're all made of animal protuberances

2014 GEC , 2018 Buck, 2020 Viper.
