I wonder what scratted black or blue camel bone would look like?you outdid yourself this time, Darren. I’m sold.
but also Smooth Black Camel Bone.
I think the problem is that we have to choose in the first place. It’s really unfair of GEC to do this to us.![]()
I was worried the scratted might not look right on such a big pattern but the long bolster eats up some of that extra space and it actually looks pretty cool! You are my hero, Darren. My favorite two! Probably will never garner the necessary votes, but a man can dream. And thanks to you I can dream and salivate.
I agree! The scratted and checkered suit that big bolster better.I was worried the scratted might not look right on such a big pattern but the long bolster eats up some of that extra space and it actually looks pretty cool!
I provided mock-ups of the 2019 BF knife in checkered ebony and scratted but don't recall how they fared in the polls. They work much better on the 2021 barlow version IMHO.

My "problem" if you will, with checkered wood is that it wears down to smooth, flat x's on the handle, with use..... and I plan to use mine. I don't know if checkered bone would do the same thing, but my suspicion is "yes".Thanks for putting all that in one post. A serious question..... is this going to have the same "recurved" blade that the oil field knives had? I don't mind a clip blade, but I don't like recurved edges. The mockups show it, but is that carved in stone?
I was not able to just purchase one like in the past. Options were use a third party that was not fully explained or have a forum member purchase and then send. No direct purchase option was available.Really? I purchased the last 3 BF knives up in Canada with no hassle.
If they're "recurved" its very slight,I sharpen mine exactly like any other knives that I own.I thought I noticed that in the oil fields. Is that really there? Why on earth would they do that? Seems like it’d just make sharpening a hassle. How did folks deal with that?
