The unofficial - official Chris Reeve Cheering Section

I disagree...the Umnumzaan is the best production folder being made...;):D

YMMV... Current count here is 7x Sebenza and 0x Umnumzaan. It was a great knife (I owned one) but it didn't float my boat so it went overboard. ;)

The Umnu is a fabulous knife, no doubt, but the Sebenza is IMHO unique. It's all good... ;)

I originally set out to buy a large Sebenza...ended up with an Umnumzaan. Couldn't turn the deal down. I'm selling some of my knives to buy a Lg Sebbie...because it is a classic and a "must have @ least one in my collection" kind of knife. I can't fathom not having a CRK in my pocket at all times. My Umnumzaan is so nice and light that I've been known to clip it to my boxers...(always gotta carry...)

I've owned several Sebenzas, one Umnumzaan, one Green Beret, and one hollow handle fixed blade. (can't remember the name) They all have been of the highest quality imaginable. There are none better IMHO.

I've been reading a thread where another member is bashing CRK and spreading false information. To make it even worse, the thread has nothing to do with CRK. This guy would never have the balls to say what he has been saying to Chris' face, but because he can hide behind a key board he lets his mouth run free. Ah well, thats the internet for you. CRK KICKS ASS!!!!!

Hey Lisa! Does this count as saying something nice? :p

Lone_Wolfe, that raindrop unique is AMAZING. Simply love it.

As far as CRK goes, I dont think that anyone can bash them after this much time has passed. You can find people with 15 year old sebenzas that have been users, are still perfect, and have never needed to go to the spa. The might show signs of wear, but the knife itself is still perfect in functionality.

I dont see that type of a reputation from any other high end production company. I could be ignorant here, but CRK's long term impeccable record is unmatched.

Thanks bladeCraft! Your new one is aewsome! If you ever sell it I want first dibs!

Cool lanyard?

Yep, I swiped it off my small Freedom. I'll only leave a lanyard on one that i carry in a sheath, and this pretty damascus is the only one that gets that treatment. The others get to ride on their clips in various pockets.

Lone_Wolfe, that sure is a great collection of the best production folders being made, and thanks for the pics:thumbup:

Excellent job on the Umnumzaan, I've had 3 Sebenzas and one Umnum. I do not own any other knives besides this one for now. It's hard to decide between the two but considering I have a Star-Tac and not just a run of the mill model, it's a keeper....

If you guys don't know me from JD or USN, I swap knives every 2-3 weeks including various discontinued Benchmade 42's weekly so saying that the Zaan is a keeper is quite a compliment even though I've been a Strider fan for longer and I don't even have one of those in my possession right now!

I love all knives but this model is really doing something for me now.... I ate my birthday prime rib dinner with it with a big grin on it since the spine has that nice scoop for planting your index when eating steak with it! I then had to cut all the boxes from Christmas up into little strips because we didn't have room in the recycling for it all to fit.

All in all, a beautiful knife with a heart made of gold (and S30V). I can't say anything about CRK customer service because I've never needed it. We'll see how it holds up I know it's a very young model compared to the other offerings and we shall see. It deploys very quickly compared to the Sebenza if you use the thumbstuds properly.

Lucky you! I would have had fun doing that! My family would have been saying, "Let's go see that new Tom Cruise movie." And I'd be saying, "No it's okay you guys go, I want to cut these boxes up.", seriously I would!

This is the highest compliment that I think I can give a knife or a knife maker. I've been acquiring (some may say collecting but for me its been more if a quest for the 'right' one) knives for the last 35 years where a knife that really turned me on would maybe spend 3-4 months in my pocket before I'd be searching for the next one due to some aspect of the knife that disappointed me in real world use. I've had my Diamond Plate large Sebenza 21 in my pocket for nearly a year now and I have no interest in shopping for anything else. It pleases me every time I use it and continues to impress me more and more. Its minimalist simple elegance is undeniable in my mind. The fact that you can take it apart and put it together again, perfectly straight, and with precisely the same amount of lockup you had before is just impressive to me.

I'm starting to believe that the large Sebenza 21 is the knife I've been looking for these last 35 years.

I have try many other knives before I have my hand on my first CR, since then I just can't stop loving them.
Beside being the tool, it's also about beauty, quality, and socially.

I have sold many of my other knives, included 5 of my XM-18 to fund my CRK.
I have never feel regret selling my other knives but I do when I sold my CRK, even it was just a plain one.
I love my CRK.

I never tire of reading positive comments. This thread is good for my blood pressure. :)

Yes. Reading about problems does not necessarily improve the day...questions, even concerned questions, are fine, but "this sucks" complaints are not usually good reading, and I will say that I have come to suspect that a lot of "rant" posts are in fact purely fictional.

Which gets me to a rant of my own. It seems to me that in the past year or so the word "fanboy" has become the all-purpose riposte when someone disagrees with a negative, flaming rant. I've come to the conclusion that those who use "fanboy" as an insult or shield are usually simply reflecting their lack of ability to support their rants with reason, fact and logic. End of my rant... ;)

The Chris Reeve Sebenza was my first folder and over the years I have acquired many other folders but none have taken my Sebenza off it's pedestal, pure perfection in every way.

The Chris Reeve Sebenza is one heck of a high quality folding knife. I wish he'd make a flipper - really, that would rock! :D

I, for one, hope we never see a flipper or other fads on the Sebenza, as they go against the awesome simplicity that IS the Sebenza.
