The upcoming, anticipated, way-too-excited GEC 85's Thread!

I was intrigued by the scandi grind. Now that it says sabre I am less intrigued. Will have to wait and see what it looks like.
 
They're really teasing the scandi/sabers and the 2-blade models. At least we got a nice shot of the 2-blade micarta handles in pin-grinding. That's the one I've got on reserve now, but so many others look nice...

I think it is a shadow, you can see the white pad underneath reflecting off of the regular swedge on the spear.
I don't think they would have a double swedge or convex up top that would yield such an effect.

Nice eye though.

I highly doubt that is anything but a shadow. Sure would be an ugly grind IMHO and you can see the cut swedge still. It does give an idea of what a Turkish clip would look like on the knife though.

I shall now happily report that my two reserved 85's (a bloodwood and micarta flat ground) are paid for! Now the wait gets even tougher. . .

Glad to get the notice on these as well! Looking forward to these since they will be my first 85s.
 
So will the polished stag be polished smooth like I thought it would be or will it be like the pictures and have rough stag in the center. Didn't know if they would polish smooth in final.
 
Uh oh! I haven'''t received a notice on mine. Hope it's just delayed based on the arrival times of the knives to Mike.

I have in for a two blade micarta and one blade scandi bloodwood, but I have yet to receive anything either...
 
I think they are only doing the single blade regular grind since those are what's been made

To those that have received their notices, can you weigh in on your blade configurations?

I reserved both a spear blade and a scandi blade. I only received the notice for the spear blade.
 
My guess is the notices are only going out for what is guaranteed to be on hand, and that means what is 100% complete. I had a single blade antique yellow. Paid for, but nothing will ship until around March 7.

Texmex03 - my guess is that the polished stag will look just about like it does now.... the last pictures they posted said final polishing, which is means they will be polished a bit, but no major grinding. They looked almost complete.
