The Usual Supect Knife Count

I, too, think The Usual Suspects TUSK is kinda redundant (although it sounds good).

I like the idea of just TUSK, a serial number, and "2001"

Chris

I think it should be redundant. I think it should be redundant.

The Usual Suspect Knife
TUSK #xxx
2001

And you've got mail, John. Of course I'll buy one.....IF it has a skull-clip.

OR we could maybe have the skull logo laser engraved beneath the SN OR on the flipside of the blade INSTEAD of on the clip. Or on the clip too. And I want a tritium thumbdisk. And a tenifer finish. And carbon fiber scales. And a true chisel grind. And a crushproof box. And a puppy. And...
Anyway, I'll buy one regardless as long as it's a baby Commander AND says anything to the effect of Usual Suspect. If the price isn't too ridiculous I may even buy two.

I am very interest, but it depends on final configuration and cost. I bought a SOFCK because the price was right and it was unique. The TUSK has the same potential. Email on the way.

Cheers,
Damon

John,
Count me in, what ever you guys decide on the Commander Air. And you got mail.

I'm in positively.

How about something like:

Emerson TUSK
Usual Suspect
2001-#001 - Which should be John

Emerson TUSK
Usual Suspect
2001-#002 - Which I want

Yeah, that sounds fair. I get #000 then, right? Actually #anything would be fine. I just want this knife to happen.

Seriously Don, I like your setup of:

Emerson TUSK
Usual Suspect
2001-#xxx

That just seems very complete. It labels the maker, model, owner, year, and SN, all within a reasonable amount of space. Perfect.

#007 for me please

John, Mail Call- I prefer just "Usual Suspect", and a SN#. Just for info, Kevin McClung has had a TUSK model knife for several years. I would like to see Derek at least call Kevin if we use the TUSK name to get his blessing, just out of respect (several of us, including Derek, are friends of Kevin and I don't see it as a real problem). Thanks, Nyeti

Mail on its way.
I would love to see the green micarta that Ernie uses on the customs.

How about:

T.U.S.K. '01
SN ###

I'd take one if it had a plain blade w/ satin finish, bolsters and micarta scales.

Just got home from a loooong night at work. I have responded to everyone I have received an e-mail from. To say the least, the response has blown me away.

So far we have Thirty-three "I'm in's"! Seven "Quite possibles".

This number was not counting the great folks that offered to buy a second if need be, to make the knife happen or the ones that said "Definatly in for one, two if the price is right". All of these responses were counted as one for now.

I have not received e-mails from some of the "Usuals" yet, but I'm sure their off, having a "life" or something.

I think we can safely say this looks very good. I'd still like to hear from interested parties, so we can keep a running approximate count for EKI.

There have been several folks VERY interested in the Bolstered idea. I'm going to see if it's possible to have a bolstered version and a non-bolstered version. Given that the C/P shop should be opening soon, this may actually be possible.

There were some other personal touches I will check on.

Is this cool or what?

Thanks for all the support and I will let everyone know what I find out.

...."life" there is no "life" without the forums...there's only chores

Hiya John.... Damn! you're workin late these days!!

Count me in for two :
Satin(real) finish plain edge
Black-T plain edge

I like your idea for the engraving :

The Usual Suspect
Emerson Knives Forum
2001

Serialized of course ;-)

Although I must agree with nyeti on the TUSK bit.

... Kevin McClung has had a TUSK model knife for several years.

I must admit I am begining to like the idea of the MiniCommander as opposed to the "standard" Commander. Seeing as this is the year that it will also be introduced.
(No ...sniper308 did not twist my arm nor is this statement made under duress
