The Walking Dead....New Weaponry

Seriously... just stop the nothing but crapping on the BG line. If you don't like it, then don't buy it. Sure, their steel isn't awesome, but it could be worse. The build is sturdy on both the machete and fixed blade. Endlessly whining about "how bad they are" will just get this thread buried in W&C.

I don't think you understand how this site works...

I was watching a clip talking about the weapons used in the new season. Apparently, Gerber donated many of the new Bear Gryls line to the set. I found that interesting. Anyone want to comment?

Bear Gryls knives? Our heros are DOOMED!!!!!

True, every thread is either informational or just a flame war.

Why can't we all just get along?!?

Maybe the reason they are endlessly whined about is because they aren't worth the plastic package they come in. Since when are you an expert on the quality of machetes and fixed blades? Do you have any real experience and perspective to back your comments up?

I'm excited but disappointed with the budget cuts. I guess all they could afford was the Bear Grylls Walmart Survival Kit.

How is this possible?? I thought they got a huge number of viewers last year, AMC should be shoveling cash at them!

I heard this happened to a number of their shows in order to put more money into Mad Men. The director/producer/writer from the first season is gone!

Yeah they fired Frank Darabont. He's known for directing a little known and obscure movie called Shawshank Redemption...

I guess AMC is just overwhelmed and don't know what to do with all their success. Mad Men people want more money which they deserve since they put AMC on the map. Breaking Bad wants more money and they deserve it since it's a huge critical and popular success. Walking Dead also got AMC's highest ratings yet, and what do they do? Cut the budget and fire the executive producer. They also renewed The Killing, one of the crappiest shows I've recently seen.

They were at Ft. Benning and didn't pick up an M-4 or 3, ot an M-2 that were on at least 2 of the HUMVEES, or an M240 that were seen on other vehicles with lots of ammo. Hmmmm. These folks are too dumb to know what a good knife is.

It's such a letdown. I thought I had finally found a show that had good taste in blades. Heck, in the first season they used a Busse Team Gemini....and you know as well as I do how much those puppies cost.
No one's ragging on the BG knives, but read any online review, or talk to anyone
who's used one; they're not anywhere near quality knives. Worse, since they're
endorsed by Bear Grylls, people think they can depend on them. So when they do fail, whoever happens to be using one could be in some serious trouble.

Not as cool as the Busse Team Gemini they had last season.

Are they the plastic handle "survival knives" where the "hammer poll" is held on only with plastic, and comes off at the drop of a hat?

Never noticed a Busse. Any screen shots available?
