The Walking Dead Season 3 Thread...

The thing I really enjoy about this show is the characters on-going challenge of surviving while trying to maintain their humanity.

I also like how they show that someone who might be considered as a bum/redneck actually has a lot of humanity in him i.e Daryl..

This series has a nack of leaving me gasping at the final scene...

damn it. I'm not digging this little town. I knew they seemed off. and wtf was up with that final scene!!

I loved the final scene. Ripped straight from the comics! If what the producers of the show say are true, they say they have not toned down The Governor for TV so you can expect some really nasty stuff from him.

Did it bother anyone else that when the Governator shot the soldier in the back with the AR/M4/M16, that the rifle didn't have a rear sight, just a front sight post?

I think the Show has gone so far down hill that I no longer want to watch it. It used to be about figuring out the walkers staying away from them and survival! now it's like they always get a break, don't worry about reality and live in fear of each other more than the walkers, that now just seem to be in the background of. Soap opera.

I have to say that while I still love the show I would much rather see them dealing more with finding supplies, shelter, food and dealing with the walkers than all the soap opera writing. The whole interaction between themselves and others does need to be there but IMO much more in the sub plot.Season one and two(one more than two) IMO was an OK mix between the two, hope they stay to that mix.

HaHa I thought the same thing.

I think we are going to find out in season 5 that the Governor is a cyborg sent from an alien race to rebuild a human population that has been devastated by a virus that they had created. That shot was just foreshadowing.

Or maybe it was just a fail by the props department. Either way...

Mark I immediately noticed that and just laughed. it's like on all the other shows where the cops or bad guys pull the hammer back on the glock lol!! silly hollywood.

I have never read the comics but I'm still digging the show for what it is. they have to appeal to all the masses not just us knife and gun snobs.

I agree, and i also really liked the human interactions between the "alpha males." There is always a leadership issue to contend with, whether leading, or trying to be leader. Introduction of the gal with the samurai should introduce some interest there.

I haven't see this weeks, or read the comics, so don't spoil anything if i'm sounding stupid... just let me watch ;-)

Maybe it was just slowed down for tv drama, but it really annoyed me how, after the governor shot the first guy, all the other "soldiers" just held their rifles down low, stood up tall, and looked around slowly like they didn't know what was happening instead of just taking cover. Seriously, that one guy standing up high in one of those trucks was just like an oscillating fan while everyone around him was getting shot.

I had to stay away from this thread till after I watched ep 3 last night but yeah I rewound and paused it to take another look and sure enough... No rear sight. Come on Hollywood! But hey Merles back and with some new Ahole(the gov) that Ricks eventully gonna have to kill. Looking forward to that confrontation cause the govs just not right in the head. I'm mean the last sceen really? Fish tanks! Com'on man!

Nope. I never did mind the little things. ;) :D:D lmao

**spoiler alert **

I had to avoid this yesterday and watched it last night.

I am a bit perplexed about the whole governor character...

So he killed the army dudes because of potential power struggles? Ok, plausible but why? I really could not see the sense in this. I am not "getting" the governor character..

The final scene did not make any sense to me at all... Why have the injured army dudes head in there? He thought his mates were dead so wouldn't be a problem...

So the guy is a homicidal psychopath that is working hard to build a new community....

Looks like its time to visit the comics...

M14-16 without rear sight.... FAIL..

Just watched the recent epi myself, same questions as pap11y.

i would speculate, he's an abnormal head collector who hoards women.

Now, what is strange, i expected the heads in the aquariums to have moving eyes and stuff... that would have made it i a bit more interesting. :barf:
