The Walking Dead Season 3 Thread...

That trash bag had tried to kill Rick twice in the melee before hand. If Rick had not had acted, he and/or his family were dead. Completely justified.

Yeah, I've got mixed feelings about that scene. If it weren't for Daryl, Rick would've been dead a few times over now, but when that ****bag took the swing at Rick, Daryl should've popped his thinker. Or they should've made an example out of him in the "tight formation." He'd already threatened Rick a few times over and society is what you make of it at this point, and Rick has a family to consider, AND Lorie even gave him the go-ahead. Don't get me wrong, I loved the episode, I just feel that scene wasn't well thought out.

I agree. Right/wrong doesn't really fit in their new world. It is all about survival. The guy was a threat and he eliminated the threat. Sure, in the past it was "we don't kill the living". But he's shown himself to be a good guy so he doesn't need that persona any more.

He did the smart thing.

As for needing a TG(LB)...absolutely!! This knife is badass! I'm not sure if it's the camera angles or what but for some reason it seems smaller this season on the show.

Ok... choices, i hate choices...

Throat cut with a Busse...

Shot in the head with a Python...

I'll take...

There's no competition especially if the knife it's mirror polish finish or satin finish:D

That guy (the prisoner who acted like a tough guy) represented the argument against that statement. Him trying to kill rick for the sake of one-upmanship and social competition is essentially wrong, it doesn't bring stability to a group setting, it doesn't aid anyone around him, it causes suffering at the local level (rick) and at the extended level (his family), and causes a 'wild card' element of unpredictability wherein if anyone questions him in the future they would have to wonder if he was going to try to kill them. In the real world he would have been wrong, and in the post apocalyptic one.

+1

Right/wrong, i.e. morality, always "fits", moreso in survival scenarios. But recognizing moral truth in a given scenario can be tricky for some people, even without post-apocalyptic fantasy, but this is digressing into a theological discussion...

I never learned, is Reedus' TG his own and that's why his character uses it, or how did it make it into the show?

Ask anyone who have any morality left, in a situation like...to kill or be killed, what He going to do?
Morality don't stand a chance against the will to live...right or wrong

After their first encounter with the second group, when they follow them back to the "safe" cell block,
was the time to disarm them, Daryl and the leader of the 2nd group were in a standoff, and T-dog
comes up behind him with pistol drawn. Might have resulted in an exchange of fire, but more than
likely the leader of the second group would cease to be a threat. After missing that opportunity,
they let him continue to act aggressively while holding a firearm and getting worked up, big no-no.

Did anyone see the aggressive and now dead inmate as sort of a young Razor Ramon? So much for his post-apocalyptic comeback :(

I'm waiting for Daryl to run out of Xbow bolts--or someone to pick up a compound bow.

He still ha a couple hand made ones but since the new season has started, he hasn't used them. I've noticed that some of his new bolts have 4" vanes and others have 2". Cool that they pay attention to stuff like that. He uses whatever he can get.

If your kid is holding a gun at you - there are plenty of people who would get shot before killing their own child. Morality doesn't just disappear in the face of potential death.

Hooray!!!! ...Sandy's holding off til after I watch The Walking Dead!!!! :D:D  How considerate of her, ain't it? ;)

Warning spoiler alert lol. Well kinda.

I can't believe that chick offer her freaking pack mules like that. Now who is going to carry all their gear :(
