Man, I really want to try an Isofrane, but I just cannot get myself to pay 100 bucks for what is essentially a 35 dollar Bonetto Cinturini strap.
Funny because to me thats exactly why it makes sense. Except for quartz, those are never ok.
I wear a smartwatch (Moto 360). A regular automatic or quartz watch that does nothing but tell time doesn't make much sense in a world of cell phones.
Using your logic:
A fixed blade or tactical folder that does nothing but cut doesn't make much sense when a simple small swiss army knife will do just fine.
Everyone has their "nice" thing. Whether it's a car, a watch, a knife...
It doesn't have to be about status, it can be about the sentiment.
Yes they tell time, and they do so with inferior time-keeping to both quartz and cell phones (and by extension smartwatches, which get their time from the phone, which gets it from GPS, which is much more accurate than anything else), at a much higher cost.
It's fine if people want to own them, but let's call them what they are in the modern world - man jewelry.
Can you charge your techno jewelry by shaking or winding it?

I think the Isofrane is WELL worth the 100 bucks.

Agreed. BC straps are amazing quality for the price and I own a couple, but not the same as an ISO.
Edit: Nice SDR, btw. On my shortlist.
I was under the impression that BC actually manufacturers the Isofrane straps. Opinions are varied as to whether or not they are made of the exact same compound.
