The what did you get for Christmas thread!

Ive ordered several things from them in the past, as such I was one of the unfortant that had their CC info stolen. Got word of it thru AR15.com.. think it was the tactical gear section. By the time I noticed it some douche kit charged $350 to online software. Call my bank and explained what happened. The refunded the charges and closed the account. Opted to do a ID security deal for the next year, due to paying for 12 months upfront it cost $90. Figured it was just good insurance. I then somehow missed the ranger hoodie being released and by the time I noticed it, they were sold out in my size... Which by the way, unless you want Gray or Brown in XXL you will need to look elsewhere since they are all gone now, but I managed to score a V5 green ranger at Larue (which also make the best optic mounts you can buy), Larue had their logo sewn onto the front left chest, and it cost 15 dollars more, but like all Larue orders it came with their free swag (hat, holiday dillo, stickers) but atleast I got one. The Spectre I ordered direct from Tad on Friday had it Tuesday for free shipping and 15% off the order, to which I ordered some flag/ punisher/ pirate patches, plus 3 pairs of the new TAD glow in the dark 1x1 tadskull patches for the little velcro on the bottom right of the jackets.

Sucks the system was hacked but with the crap going on in society now a days, I expect it to happen ALOT more sadly. Hell even just read local news at the armed roberies, car jackings, muggings etc. I now carry 24.7 even in the home. But I am happy with their service, so be it the delayed notices on the hack to the database, but their products are still GREAT! Wish I could have gotten the reloaded in Sith black XL size, but I am always watching the boards for one to pop up. I should be off of work in about 4 hours and will post up the photos for ya.

I got a Ruger 10/22 and did the extended magazine release and the bolt hold open mod already :-)
Now I need to figure out if I want to scope it or not :-).......we'll leave that for another thread!

I didn't think I was going to be able to get on here. ...
Any how I ended up getting LASIK eye surgery done a couple of months ago. That enough for me. Now I just need to get a decent pair of sun glasses with Polarized lens for when I go fish or shooting. Go to go Merry Christmas. Lol

I have a RAT IZULA in a box waiting to be wrapped. I had it out fondling it while the wife was at work. I can't wait for it to officially be mine and not have to hide my activities.

haha i hear ya man,i just found my benjamin discovery pellet rifle hidin in the closet!only two more long days..love my girl.

happy holidays everyone!

I got my brother a hydro pack. Wal-Mart version in case it doesn't fit.

Bought myself a laptop because mine cratered. Oh, and I am picking up a Rossi Tri-Fecta after the holidays are done.

I am not getting anything because that is what I asked for. Money is too damn tight for my folks.

With me being out of work, I gave what I could, which wasnt much. I asked anyone that I knew that would be sending presents to buy for my son unstead of me. I wanted him to have a nice christmas. I can live with his smile as my present for the year.

I bought a few knives recently and I thought I couldn't afford anything more for Christmas, then I won a poker tournament (just pub poker level) and suddenly had about a grand more money. Most went to the CC debt, but I have ordered a BK9 and a couple of Moras as well as some hanks of paracord. My stuff has shipped but I am not too sure when it will arrive.

Man, sorry to hear about the bad news... I feel like a piece of crap now, hopefully things turn around for you and everything, but with what is happeneing with our great country, I have a feeling that each additional year we will unfortantly hear similar stories unless something different is done.

I for one wish the best for you and your family, the response you gave shows compassion and caring. When I was a child I had the misfortune of being homeless for around 2 years due to my mother being hooked on drugs and the stupid state I live in (Utah), thinking it was better for a mother to raise the children than the father so be it she was shacking up with what ever john she could find and was blown out of her socks 80% of the time. I can count a few christmas that were ruined by her.. first was when we still had a place to live and my father bought us BMX bikes, she hawked them for blow. Then after my father finally convienced the state to give him custody she showed up on a snowy Christmas morning in a Taxi that drove INTO our front door which she and the driver stagger out of to give us garbage bags of presents upon opening still had the ink/ security tags attached. While we were waiting for the police to show my stepmother (which I call my mom and my real mom as my ex mom) called a few large chain stores and asked about this, they said the cabbie just picked up someone who security was trying to grab and blew out of their. She told them we had the stuff, the story and that the police were already on the way as well.

spoolup, damn brother, sure you and I arent related, sounds like my childhood. Dont feel bad for me, I appreciate it, but theres no need. Things will hopefully get better I hope. The economy can only get so bad, and if it gets much worse, there will be plenty more with much worse storys then mine.

I too asked family and friends to forgo the presents for me and just buy us baby stuff for when little Eddie makes his appearance in January. It's better that way anyway as I have exactly negative forty-four dollars in my account and I can't buy anyone a damn thing this year. I think instead of gifts, I'll be calling everyone I've been out of touch with and sending thank-you cards for my family. We'll have ourselves a merry little Christmas no matter what and just hearing from loved ones will be better than material gifts.
;)

Spoolup and dbltap45acp, my mother's ex-husband is a junkie and usually saw fit to spend christmas money on his addiction instead of gifts (or food) for his family so I know exactly where you're coming from. He was also a big fan of stealing whatever valuable things I or my mother had hidden somewhere and hocking them at the pawn shop. I had to buy one of my bicycles back twice. If you're anything like me, you've got an appreciation for 'normalcy' that a lot of people take for granted! I know I'm better for it and with a son of my own coming soon, I can't wait to prove that I'm not a product of my past.

I will never take anything for granted. I ahve seen WAY too much to even think that something that "IS" will stay. But I do try to help out, but seriously WTF is with these people acting to get paid. I get approached in the Walmart parking lot with a "looking for food please help" carrying sign guy. I give him the address to one of the local soup kitchens and he says, how about some money instead? I do give to Toys for tots (Im a jarhead) and have served at the soup kitchens a a few times. Every time I walk by the shelter on my way to get a hair cut (usually monthly) I have been noticing ALOT more people and really fear for what is to come. I will admit I have been VERY lucky with my life since my father has taken custody of me and after joining the Marines I took a pretty sweet gig as a contractor and get to travel ALOT, get paid well, and hope to death my daughter never needs to go thru ANYTHING that I went thru. My brother who my father also spent years getting custody of blew the nest to go back with my ex mother since she would let him join a gang. He is 2 years younger and was influenced by it a little more heavier than I was. He has been in and out of jail, has restraining orders against him by his daughter and her family, and multiple felonies. I know because of this one may never REALLY know what one will do when the time comes.

Back to the post at hand.... Sorry its a little late but a few issues at work the last working day before most people took vacation thru the end of hte year means that something is bound to go wrong.. and it did. But to JWilliams, here they are...

Left to right. Patgonia R4, my trusty go to since it is held up FINE thru alot of bad cold weather. TAD robin hoodie. Arcteryx Alpha jacket (also own the pants), GREAT but like Kifaru cost a little more than I would like to have spent but glad that I did. TAD Ranger V5, WARM jacket with plenty of features.. go figure is sold out FAST, one thing, it develops ALOT of static on teh surface, so much that I can not take it into the lab even to the coat rack so I need to leave it at the desk. Hope it fades fast, but it is VERY WARM. Last is the TAD Spectre, my other new jacket, REALLY wish I would have picked up one in multicam when they had them. Again nice features for the price, and keeps me warm to atleast 15 since that is what it is outside right now.

Awesome....Thanks man, nice collection of outerwear. I am looking pretty hard at them. I like the tech wool Robin thats on sale right now, but think I like the Ranger better...Maybe Ill be score one for my birthday.

An OD Stealth reloaded made it my way awhile back , I love the damn thing. 3 hours in a nasty rain in the kayak with no leakage. I consider it an early gift to me, if I waited they would have been gone.

I will be warm and dry and be with my wife and kids. In other words, everything that really matters.:)

Its a very commercial time of year and looking around at the 20 odd wrapped gifts for my daughter whos only 2 Im thinking its just a waste.
One or two but so many piles of shaped plastic in cardboard boxes which will last a few months till the next fad.
Christmas can be the best of times or the worst of times.
Its all about family

What ever you get be happy !!

Have a great christmas.

I got busted... I bought a David Farmer Talibong and my wife found it on the doorstep when it was delivered, now I have to wait til X-mas:grumpy:

I can honestly say that I don't know what I'm getting this year.
Became unemployed in October, so things have been pretty rough.
Thankfully, we have enough money to pay the bills, and enough food to survive.
Family, friends and church have been there for us in all ways.
God has been providing for our needs, and for that, we are truly blessed.

Cheers and have a great Christmas!
