The "Whatever" Thread

Well I have to get serious for a bit. Ran the wife to the hospital at 1 AM for stomach pain. It now looks like she will have to have her gall bladder removed. Luckily my father in law is in town so he can watch our son.

That sucks. I had my first gallbladder attack 15 years ago and have been at the hospital two other times since. I obviously have not had mine removed but, after the last hospital visit in June I sure was thinking about it. When the nurse says "morphine won't be strong enough" you think it might be time to make sure this doesn't happen again. My attacks are triggered by my diet so this has kept me from eating things I probably shouldn't eat anyway.

My wife had severe stomach pain after taking her to hospital she had to have gall bladder removed, good news is with modern techniques it is only a tiny little scar and recovery in a day. Hopefully it goes good for y'all

Hope all goes well with the surgery!

Thanks for all the support guys that's why I love this little corner of BF. I finally got home from the hospital. They gave the wife morphine before I left so she should be out until sometime tomorrow. By my rough guesstimation I have now been up and stessed for about 46 hours now. I just got the little man in bed and took a swig of nyquil to battle the cough I have had the past couple days so I am going to sleep in for a little bit tomorrow.

Stainless90 sorry to hear about your wife, hopeully she will have a quick recovery from surgery.

I've had a lot of pain but nothing came close to the pain of a gall bladder attack. I had them for 20 years and doctors kept misdiagnosing them. I finally insisted that it was gall bladder and my doctor relunctantly. Tested it and found it full of stones. They removed it a couple of hours later, on Friday afternoon and I was back at work Monday.

I hope and pray that all goes well.

Thanks again guys she is in surgery and should be out within the next hour. On a side note morphine does hilarious things to a 5'1" 110 lb. woman, that lightened things up quite a bit.

Hope everything went well with the surgery.
And morphine is good, but Demerol is where it's at! Last time I was in surgery I puked as soon as they hooked the morphine up, so they immediately switched to Demerol. It's odd though, because I've never had trouble with morphine in pill form.

On that note, I will have 3 years clean and sober tomorrow! It's been a long ride but damn worth it.

Glad to read about your 3 years, it's a struggle, and I admire your tenacity.

However, like Stainless said, resistance is futile. Knife buying keeps you thin, because you have no money for food!

Hope everything went well with the surgery.

Congrats Erik! Here's to 80 more ;):D

All the best brother. Now, treat yourself to a knife!:D

February will mark 7 for me. The ride smooths out but like you said, "it's worth it."

I wish I could, but I haven't really worked in the past month. Money is her tight. The guys I work with(my dad, his friend, and my cousin) and myself are in the process of starting a new company. So, we have to build our clientele back from scratch. We actually have our first job under the new name Monday. I can't wait to get back to work.
