The "Whatever" Thread

Connie is off work Thursday, so we are going to the range (her idea!) I'm going to do something different this time, I usually take one of my carry guns and either my Glock 17 or Kimber .45. This time I'm only taking my carry guns, Sig P290, Taurus 85, and NAA .22 magnum, to get more practice in with them.

You should go to the outdoor range and give that .22 mag a real workout at 100 yards. Don't shoot your finger tip off!

I just acquired a new to me, high capacity, thumper carbine. It's going to be my SHTF battle rifle It's a Rossi copy of the venerable Winchester 92.
10 rounds of 44 mag knock down. High Vis front sight, Williams rear aperture sight for quick target acquisition. light weight and very reliable!
Less likely to be named on a gun ban list.

I was at a gun show a few months back and saw a Rossi in .357 and was tempted but I have read the Rossi's are hit and miss. Some people just love them and others have issues. There is that Cowboy shooting events and some of those guys trick out the Rossi's and I hear they are sweet but it's not a cheap process. Good to hear you got a good one, another good thing with a pistol cartridge rifle in a SHTF your side arm can shoot the same ammo.

Yeah, im looking for a good 9mm carbine right now. The only one I can find is the Beretta CX4. Its about the ugliest rifle I can imagine, but it does accept my M9 mags.

The other option is the Hi-Point 9mm. The price is real low, but it doesn't take my M9 mags.

Its crazy you can get a good quality carbine in about any handgun caliber except 9mm...

If I remember right, Marlin used to make a semi auto carbine in 9mm

Wow. That Marlin Camp 9 is a sweet looking little rifle.

There are several on GunBroker right now for sale.

I think I may have to track down a good one!

1892's of all makes are known for being picky about ammo -- one thing that helps with this is to polish the feed ramp.
the other is to figure out what ammo it doesn't like and avoid that brand/bullet shape. :)

Peter sells the pukka's, John K. makes the blades and Peter makes handles for them. They come out real nice. The one I have is about 2 3/8 tip to handle. Peter will probably give more info shortly.

I know most of us have pets. It's hard to think of them as animals when they are part of the family. Saying goodbye to one is very difficult even when you know deep down inside it is the best thing. I have been dealing with this for some time and I hope to do what is best for my companion of the last 20 years. Jack is a "one of a kind" and it kills me to see him as just a shadow of the dog he once was. He is on pain meds every day and I'm not sure his quality of life outweighs the only option.

I'm so sorry to read this. I've always thought of my pets as my family, and it's so hard when they leave us.
