The "Whatever" Thread

Just curious John, have you ever made a fork and knife set? I see BHK used to do one but apparently don't make them anymore.

I used to make a barbecue set of a knife, fork, and bottle opener. It would be easier to make a short set like in the picture.

rats, such a good thanksgiving but one minor note, went out to the work shed to get some stuff done while everyone's sleeping, and found some of my wood scale material had warped, argh, nice stablished stuff to, have to find somethign else to use them for :(

I will probably ask this in gadgets and gear as well but I know some of you fine gentleman have Glocks as well. I am thinking about sending my 42 in to have the rear cocking serrations deepened and front cocking serrations added. The end result will look like this pretty much anywhere I have it done.

That picture is from Robar but they are all pretty much the same. My question is does anybody have any slide work done and do you have any companies to recommend?

A buddy of mine works at Cylinder & Slide up in Omaha -- have seen some of his work and was impressed.

Do they do the refinishing there as well, I would prefer to only send it in once?

yes - they offer ceracoat, deepening rear serrations, adding front serrations, etc....
cost is 2-3 times what Bowie Tactical charges, but turnaround is 8-16 weeks, not 16-24...

I shot a C&S reworked S&W 686 years ago, sweetest revolver action I ever fired. I only have front cocking serrations on one gun, my Kimber, and don't really use them. The first thing I change on any Glock is the sights. On my old 17 I put on MMC adjustable sights, on my current 17 I have Heinie Straight 8 sights. I also rounded the front of the trigger guard, and shortened the grip frame on both of them.

The day I bought the gun I had them change the sights to Ameriglo classics, green front/yellow rear. It has Pierce grip extensions, Vickers tactical extended slide lock, Ghost 4 lb. edge connector, and talon grip wraps. It is a great little gun to shoot, I would just like to have more options for slide manipulation "just in case".

When you get time please post a picture, I'd like to see it with the upgrades. I keep hoping to get a 43 next year.

I'm with JK on this one. Heinie Straight 8's, double undercut guard, stippling, ghost 3.5 connector. Dream carry gun.

Some pics of the great hatchet sheath John Smith (darkmatter35) made for me!

Awesome work, John Smith!

I would be more than happy to post some pictures when I get home but I was wondering, do we have a JK guns thread? I am on mobile so my search function is limited.

We have had a few over the years. Here is one of the most recent ones.
