The "Whatever" Thread

After slight encouragement from my son we decided to get together for some last minute Christmas shopping. Of course his idea of lunch at this brewery influenced our decision a little.
http://www.bluemountainbrewery.com/visit/ I started with a sampler that was 10 - 2.5 oz beers then finished with a Cherry Sour that was very interesting: https://untappd.com/b/blue-mountain-brewery-cherry-sour-devil/1303116 The first time the wife has had to drive us home after dinner in some time:D The food was good too:thumbup:

Sounds like a great time. I've always enjoyed eating at breweries.

My in-laws had their annual Cristmas Tree Hanging Party. Family and friends come out, take a tractor/wagon ride out on the farm, cut an 11" cedar which is suspended (hence the tree "hanging") from the exposed beams in the living room. Much eating and drinking and being merry! It's a cool tradition they've been doing for nearly 40years.

Sounds like you both had fun Saturdays. I'm looking forward to taking the girls out this week, it's becoming a tradition.

Just curious John, have you ever made a fork and knife set? I see BHK used to do one but apparently don't make them anymore.

I keep coming back to this, but don`t really want to invest in stainless that just sits on the shelf. I could do them out of O1, if that gets anyone`s interest.

That's a fine looking set. I would definitely be interested in an O1 version.

So how do you handle telemarketers? I just a call from a guy who spoke English with a very heavy accent. I could understand him better than I let on. He did well repeating himself when I told him I was having trouble understanding him several times. I was able to keep him in the line for almost 8 minutes before he blew his cool and hung up. I figured if he had the right to interfere with my lunch I had the right to ask questions.

HA! I do the same thing some of the time. Just lead them on long enough they get the clue.

They mostly ask for the boss or 'business owner'. My favorite bid is: 'Oh, his dog died yesterday and hes pretty upset. He wont be back until NEXT WEEK. Is their anything I can help you with?'

Sorry if that hits too close for home for ya. I know your dog is having some trouble.

I actually had a pretty amazing one yesterday it was a security company calling me to offer security services at my job. I'm a security supervisor.

My call was almost that good. He said his records indicated all my credit card payments had been on time for the past year. It's been several years since I've had a credit card beyond my debit/check card. It was funny listening to his frustration through the phone. I'm sure the veins on the side of his head were bulging.

Thank you for remembering. That has been dealt with, I just didn't feel like bringing everyone down with the news. Hardest thing I've ever done but I know I did what was best.

It's supposed to be mid 60's with thunderstorms here tomorrow. We've been having a lot of rain.

Gonna rain all week and in the 60's here as well.

Its crazy that IL is having the same weather as Central LA in the dead of winter!

Supposed to rain all week here, with exception of today. So basement walls were set to be poured today. But when the crew showed up to set the forms they found the crew that poured the footer poured the house 8 feet short. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! It's not going to cost us anything, but construction time, but what a pain in the ass. They are supposed to come out and (re)pour the back wall the next non-Christmas, non-raining day.
