The "Whatever" Thread

Maybe if you are even nicer next year you might get some FRESHER (not 12 years old) whiskey!:)

And maybe some from the A lot instead of that funky B lot stuff.
Ah well, it's the thought that counts.;)
Just mix with Dr Pepper and you won't be able to tell the difference between the A&B lots.

Send that to me for disposal... You Just might end up with a bottle of Old Blowhard or Four Roses Single Barrel LE next year in exchange...

Great gift! Isn't it nice when family Really understands you and appreciates the fact you can tell the good from the bad, even if they can't?

Walking into work around 6 this morning the temperature was 60 which would normally be an exceptional daytime high this time of year.

So I stop in Walmart today to buy some dog food. And anytime I go in Walmart I go check their stock of .22 ammo. And any time they have said ammo I buy three boxes because that's the limit on how many you can buy.

Well today they had some Winchester Super-X .22 bullets. I tell the cashier, "ill take as many boxes as you can sell me of those .22 bullets." He proceeds to pull out one box of ammo and rings me up. I say, "Why only one box?"

He says, "If I sell you all these bullets then that would leave none for everyone else." I say back, "I thought the limit was three boxes per customer..." He tells me, "It is, but I always only sell one box at a time."

By now im a little confused and aggravated about this whole deal. I say to the cashier, "I want to buy two more boxes because that's what im allowed to buy." Then he says, "I only sell one box per customer. Im sorry sir."

So, I just shrugged my shoulders, shook my head, rolled my eyes and said, "Guess ill take what I can get."

Around me, Wal mart will sometimes have .22 but when they do it is like pulling teeth to get someone back there to open up the cage to get you some. It's like how do they sell out when you can't get anyone to open the dang cage? Basically a 5 minute Walmart trip turns into a 30-45 minute Walmart trip if you buy any ammo. Now Academy is the go to place, they keep it at the gun counter which is always manned, if you go early on Monday, Wednesday, Friday which is the day they get ammo trucks you can just about get some .22 everytime. Sometimes the little 50 box sometimes the 100's every now and then the 250 or larger, they do have the 3 box limit also but only 1 on the large boxes.

this makes me angry just reading it. he doesn't have the right to make up his own rules. with that said, you probably did the right thing by shaking your head and walking away. i hope i would have handled the situation as admirably. :)

The local Mart has a one box limit for any quantities greater than 50. I'm always extra polite to the people behind the counter. It's taken some effort but I've gotten to the place they recognize me when I walk by and will tell me what they do or don't have before I ask. I've lucked into a couple 1000 round boxes in the past month.

These were 100 round boxes. If I needed the ammo I would have made a scene and gotten ugly, but I have enough .22 rounds that the protective cashier wasn't gonna mess up my day.

I just cant get out of my head that the guy is pretty much making up his own rules

I always go to Acadamy Sports for my ammo. It's not even behind a counter. It's out in the aisles. Just grab what you want and go to the front to check out. Doesn't get any easier than that!

No Academy Sports around here. Gander Mountain and Cabelas usually have .22 magnum but not .22 LR.

i have heard folks around the country that say that they have a problem with getting the .22 ammo. not in VT. don't get me wrong, we used to, but that was a couple years ago when the you-know-what started hitting the fan.

nowadays, you can get it anywhere. gunshops and the box stores. no problem. no limit even anymore.

Gonna be fun New Year's weekend around my house!
This bad boy came in on a freight truck yesterday evening from East Coast Gear Supply. It may not be much to look at, but this is a full blown competition rock crawling axle for my jeep.
Its been rebuilt from the inside out with aftermarket beefed up parts. Bigger axle shafts, new bearings, disc brakes, 4.88 gears, DETROIT LOCKER. :D

It was a big hit to the bank account, but once its installed ill blow the motor up before this axle breaks!

I feel like Tim Allen from Home Improvement. "OW OW OW":thumbup:

Nice! New Years will be quiet here, Connie has to work tomorrow, but when she gets home the kids are coming over for her birthday, which is also tomorrow.

My wife and I are going to experience much different New Year's eves. She's headed to the hospital to work a 12 hour night shift in the ER and I'm home with our children. Her night will be exhausting, frustrating, hopefully a little boring, and I'm sure punctuated with periods of intense stress. I,on the other hand, will have the kids in bed by 8 (ok maybe it will be closer to 8:30) then I'll sit down to watch a little of the CFB playoff game (I'm pulling for Alabama) then into bed well before the ball drops.

8:00 and both kids are in bed! Woohoo
