The "Whatever" Thread

They close schools in our parish for the slightest hint of bad weather.
Its crazy too because every day that schools are closed, they have to make up for it at the end of year.

My wife is a 7th grade English teacher and she gets pretty pissed at the end of year when they have another week or two of school when every other parish is already out.

yeah, i bet...

Yesterday we went to a wildlife show that's only a few minutes away from where my son lives: http://www.westernvasportshow.com/index.html There are more seminars today and Sunday but the crowd is much lighter on Friday. We did get to see the live Grizzly Bear Show which my youngest didn't enjoy nearly as much as expected. There were only a couple knife makers there. One had a couple interesting smaller blades at very reasonable prices. I would have gotten one but he only had display models for the two I liked and was taking orders. I understand John's dilemma of inventory. I had a very interesting conversation with Bill Zearing of Cody Turkey Calls( http://www.codyturkeycalls.com/ ) and came away with a new call at a hell of a price. The funny thing is that my wife and I had talked specifically about turkey calls before the show. I told her I knew I didn't need another but might possibly maybe get one knowing Cody was going to be there. She said she wasn't getting another because she was still trying to master the one she bought last time. We had not walked through the first isle when my wife had found a call she had to have:rolleyes: Overall it was a great day not only because of the show but I got to spend it with my family.

Had a really good day yesterday. We took the little man to the shark aquarium and then played at a huge local park for a couple hours.

We had a great weekend too. Hayley's 13th surprise party yesterday (she was really surprised) and a cookout in Indiana today. Lots of wonderful time with family!
