The "Whatever" Thread

That's a heck of a deal for 25 bucks. Happy Birthday.

On a bad note today is going to suck. Have to put my best bud of 12 years down. He has cancer and a ton of fluid around his lungs making it hard to breathe. They attempted to drain the fluid and discovered it's blood.

Dug the hole out by the flower garden last night. Nice sunny spot. Fed him brisket and ribs. I'm going to miss him like crazy.

Sorry about your pet, GS. That time of life always sucks to have to deal with.

Franco has passed. He was my best bud and an amazing dog. My kids loved him so much. My 3 year old is taking it pretty rough cause he doesn't really understand.

He is on to greener pastures. With no pain. Rough day for sure

Very sorry to hear this.

Sorry to hear of Franco's passing Patrick.

For knife content I was carrying the BullNose I got from NJBill a while ago.

I always look forward to your pics taken on on your walks. Never thought I would be part of one of the sets.

I hope the knife is treating you well and I hope you like the tinkering I did with it.

John, Great pics and congrats to the happy couple!

Grunt, Sorry for your loss bud. I am sure it is a hard to help a 3 year old understand while having to deal with the loss yourself.
Hopefully helping your son process this will also help you.

I've been noticing more and more of the regular posters here are gone. I was thinking it would pick up here after summer, figured people were busy with vacation and stuff. Guess that's not the case. Seems like non knife topics get more attention than the knives do.

GS, I'm so sorry to hear of Franco's passing. It's a dreaded time. I'll be sure to raise a toast to your Franco tonight!

A very nicely sporterized 1898 30-40 Krag carbine that I had been coveting for 30 years, ever since when I first saw it in our deer camp in the South Dakota Black Hills, may find a new home in my gun case very soon!
Fingers and toes crossed!
Hope my sporterized 1903 Springfield in the cabinet doesn't get jealous! It's 40 years younger (1941 Remington) and thinks it's tough.
Anybody got Sierra 220 gr .308 Round Nose bullets to sell or trade?
Sorry to hear about your dog Patrick, I lost my beagle Buster this Spring and still sometimes think I hear his baying in the distance. (Maybe I do)

Sorry to read this, grunt. It gets easier.

My parents had to put down the dog I grew up with around this time last year (she was 15 and getting sick). Every time I see or hear a beagle, it hurts a little bit.

A lot of the old "regular posters" are not around as much anymore, but there seems to be a bunch of new folks around here keeping the forum active.

Speaking only for myself, I am so damn busy with school and associated activities that I don't have much time to spend on the forums. I check in frequently but have no time to contribute as much content as a couple years ago. Being a broke college student again has put my knife purchases to a screeching halt, and I am thinking more and more about selling a lot of the ones that don't see any use.

I just got a new storage box for my knives and tools. It's my 50th birthday tomorrow and my wife found this set at Goodwill for $25. I think she got a good deal:)

That's a beautiful old chest and a heck of a deal.Your wife did good.
I have a pair of Bose 301s I got at the Goodwill for $28 a few years ago.
Gotta love Goodwill.

Love the mods Bill. I have to say pinching it open via the cutout is way easier than feeling for the knick with my thumb. Just grab the blade and pull.
