The "Whatever" Thread

I used to lift and considered getting back into it after nearly a decade off. I got tired of it by the end of college and only did it for another year or so after graduation. I used to do a little running and high energy circuit training with a lot of olympic style lifts and jump roping. I suppose it was probably about like crossfit before that blew up.

Now, I just ride bikes a lot, hike a bit, and smash up dead trees around the woods most for workouts. I got a standup desk at work and I plan to either start filling a backpack with weights or get a weighted vest to start getting a little more strength in the body that way. Really, since I started working after college, a big part of my workout is to get the heck away from the indoors, so that's the biggest reason I grew tired of seeing a gym. I didn't mind the kind of strength I had at the time though. Finding jeans to fit was always a bother.
Now it's a trend to wear super skinny Jean's in your 20s but not from heavy squats and deadlifts.

20191117_174025.jpg John what is this little treasures name. The guy I'm getting it from says it's a EDC. He picked it up used. And I need to get back on the books. Something fancy

Skinny jeans are kind of funny. I think I can get them up to my ankles. My wife and sister-in-law like to make fun of me because all jeans are skinny jeans when I'm wearing them. I'm already a big legged guy so weight lifting and cycling never really helped with that much. Luckily, all of the cycling gear is super stretchy so I actually don't have too hard a time getting shorts, and I get good compression from it.

It took me many tries to find some I can fit into and squat/move in like I would in workout gear. Ended up being some of the stretchy jeans that are more common now. I bought a ton of them off amazon where they were cheap. I assume it was some type of Amazon contract with the manufacturer as it was the same style and model number I got from the clothing store, but 1/2 off. I think the pockets were the biggest difference.

I'm not to big I have to eat and lift alot. I'm usually 190 or 200 standing 6ft. I did nothing but run and ruck most last year I was 170 and felt weak. I use to be a lot bigger when I'd compete but I've had 9 surgeries so I'm slowing down alot.

Congrats John. What is everyone up to today I'm on early holiday leave bored out of my mind. Not really feeling like messing with leather. Might go pump some iron when my youngest takes a nap. All my other little buddies are at school. We finally got snow in Anchorage over the weekend a good bit to. Got to play with my snow blower.

Food for thought.
