The "Whatever" Thread

Walked in the same woods over and over for years but this time took a walk where I knew there surly wasnt any shrooms, and sure enough. WHAMMO.

Me jealous.
I went out to my morel woods today & didn't find a one dangit.
I think it's too early up there in the mountains,I usually find 'em in late May/early June.
The good news is the snow is all gone & my camp site hadn't been messed up by the hunters last fall.

As I mentioned above..I hit the mountains in search of the sometimes elusive Morel Mushroom.
Unfortunately the Morellies weren't out yet or have all been picked already, but I did get to play with my Belt Hawk a little.

I Chopped a log...

And made some fatwood curlies.

Wow, Myke, great work as always, I knew it went to the right home! generous nothing, i just didn't want to ruin it by trying to mod it like I said :)

here's what Myke gave me in return FYI, another example of his skill

Cool stuff. I didn't think to do any mushroom hunting while I was home. Karen and I did get our limits of trout and we paddled around 10 miles on Drift Creek one day. Now I'm tired and need to get back to work so I can rest.

That's great, Mack.

Congrats on your win, by the way.

Thanks. I hope it will be a huge seller. Everyone needs a knife like it. It's kinda like a Sharpfinger. Once you hold it you wonder why you weren't born with one.

love those opies Myke! great pics.
Thanks Todd.

Thanks again Pete.

Nice work!
Thanks John.

Those Opinels are amazing!

Jeff
Thanks Jeff.

I still need to do one in real antler.
I've seen a few done in antler & they really look amazing vs anything done in wood.

'bows for suppa time! nice! great pics Mack. glad you had a good day off.

Karen filled those 'bows with the herbs she's been growing, some spices and garlic herb butter. They were unbelievably good. I can't imagine a five star restaurant doing better.

Finally decided on a Victorinox Recruit for the knife to put the ivory micarta on to match my Iris. It has the tools I use, nothing extra. Went on Amazon, they had them for $14.80 plus shipping, so I held off. Went to my oldest daughter`s house near Kankakee yesterday, stopped at Farm & Fleet, they had them for $13.49, so I picked one up. When I order micarta next month I will buy the scale material.

i imagined that she would do something with them that i could ...well...only imagine.
