Hey JK family, I have a personal camp that I was going to list in the exchange and before I do that, I wanted to give you guys a first crack at it. Desert Ironwood with brass pins in a leather slip sheath. It's a beauty, but isn't getting any attention. Feel free to DM me if you are interested.
Thank you. There is still much we're uncertain of but we did get a bit of good news Friday. I told my wife it was just the first step in the right direction. I'm hopeful more will follow.
When are the drains coming out?Hasn’t been too warm, but today it’s going to be 80. With drains hanging down my leg, no shorts for me.
But chicks dig drains!Hasn’t been too warm, but today it’s going to be 80. With drains hanging down my leg, no shorts for me.
Hang in there John -
It has been soo beautiful down here, in the mid to upper 70s, low humidity, light breezes.
Maggie and I planted three trees for earth day (well - we are landscaping so it was just nonincidental but may as well do our climate SJW puffery). We planted two ornamental cherries in the front property, and one Japanese maple up close to the house in front.
I was able to get all the mowing/trimmingdone early in the week so I can do some maintenance today.
Today is oil change and wash day for the Superglide.
Tomorrow is deck maintenance day for the tractor.
Maggie and her friends drove over to South Pitsburg TN yesterday to attend the Cornbread Festival and tour the Lodge factory. They had a good time but the sun got to them; Maggie was a tired puppy last night!
This coming weekend is the Jack Daniel Wyooter Hunt (previously the Lynchburg Coon Hunt), which should bring a couple thousand people in from all over to the festivities. Thursday marks my 40th anniversary as a Tennessee Squire,
JK Knives - just so you don't think you are the only one falling apart, I am having cataract surgery on both eyes in May; hoping to get some vision back as the glaucoma has essentially taken my sight in my right eye. Kick it's ass and take names for later I say.
I hope you all are doing well
best

The highlight of the weekend was my son stealing home twice in one game. They still lost by 1 run but after the scare the doctors gave us I was just happy he was able to play. I will admit I had to fight back tears the first time he scored.Have a good weekend. Use your JKs, have some fun, and share your adventures. John, hope you are getting better, stronger everyday.![]()
my neighbor is a dumbshit too! Sorry.Been a few super windy days lately, so what does my dumb-a$$ neighbor decide to do? Why, burn some leaves and set the woods on fire, of course! There was a red flag no-burn order in effect in town, but not for him, apparently.
I was working on my porch, and didn't even notice it until my wife, who was leaving down the driveway, stopped the car and asked if I see that. See what, I said, and then looked up and saw all the smoke. It looked like more than just a bonfire, so I went next door and banged on the door. Finally the guy came out and I said...um, you have a problem. I then showed him on the side of his house where everything was on fire. He called the fire dept, as it was clear this was more than a garden hose could take care of. At first, the fire was on his side of the stone wall, but the wind carried it onto my property, and also on to the neighbor's up on the hill.
The FD showed up and worked quite a while to knock it down. A police officer was on scene also, and came over to ask me a few questions. She said if we hadn't seen it and said something, the neighbor's house on the hill would've gone up. The report I read on facebook said that 2 motorized vehicles were also in the fire, so maybe 4-wheelers? Anyways, we got lucky with the wind direction....
