The "Whatever" Thread

Anyone else dealing with the unusually high temperature and humidity this summer? Walking through the gate at work this morning at 6:20 the digital thermometer showed 78° and the humidity felt like it was 90%🥵

My co-workers said they feel like it's more humid than normal, but I feel like Michigan has been humid often. When I was on the lakeshore in West MI, it was frequently humid and hot in the summer. I just remember some pretty miserable training sessions in the summer for sports, and the "why can't I dry off?" feeling of never being able to stop sweating.

We don't get it for long, usually, but seems like we have had warmer temps for longer, but haven't been near 100 deg yet, so not the hottest we've seen for summer.

We have been in the low to mid 90s with little rain for a few weeks, but it has cooled down and we have had a couple gully-washers over the last three days so cooler but humid.

Normal stuff here on the border of Tennessee and Alabama.

I have been keeping busy working on dirt bikes for the neighbors, and my old stihl wood boss is up for new fuel lines and carb rebuild.

Then I have and old glider swing to refurb; it was passed down to Maggie by her aunt.

I am also now an election worker for the county. Maggie has been working the elections for 3 years and is now an election judge.

I will be assisting voters in a polling place in a fire house, which should be fun. I will post fire engine pictures here if they allow.

Hope everyone is well.

It's been over two years since the first appointment our son had with the specialist at UVA Orthopedics. The most recent follow-up was last Friday, and once again we got good news. The Drs still believe there's a good chance his body will heal itself and don't recommend surgery. Looking at the X-rays side by side, the differences are positive; the cyst is slowly shrinking and his bone is still growing. We're truly blessed that things have turned out the way they have so far.

I go today for a CT followed by a visit with my surgeon to see if everything is still okay. Another B12 shot tomorrow, blood drawn Thursday, and a follow up with my vascular doctor Friday to go over the results of the ultrasound on my leg last week. Next Wednesday I have an appointment with my oncologist to check bloodwork results. If all these appointments go well I should be done for about a month or so.

Hello, JK folks, just wanted to wish everyone a good day. Hope John is getting better and Fishiker’s son is too.

Keep up the good fight, John!

Thanks brother! Things are well, watching my son on the basketball court or soccer field you would never think he has any problems. I still hold my breath when he takes a bad fall but I've got faith we'll make it though.
