Sniper,
you got a DEAL in VEGAS!!!! No ONE borrows my EMERSONS!!!! I did have one stole while at the proctologist. The Doc had his fingers where they really SHOULD NOT have been:eek:   when I saw some girl rip my Mach-1 out of my pants pocket. Thank the LORD good Ole TRUSTY was around.
I had the Doc stick his fingers up HIS ARSE and I ran down my EMERSON.

When I earn the status of one of THE USUAL SUSPECTS, It will be a day of GREAT PRIDE. First let me get my BUTT to VEGAS and buy my First custom:D :D :D

I respectfully ask the SUSPECTS to vote the SCREEN NAME "TRUSTY" as the NEW Name for DENNIS at the time he gets BANNED or Spark allows him to post.

Carry on Friends, and OUPA; You SHOULD TALK!!!:p :p ;) ;) ....wolf
of course, story to follow at 11

To: The Usual Suspect,

some free advice.
change your screen name
try not trolling,JUST FOR TODAY!

I really would hate to see Dennis banned. I do hope he is allowed to return, after a very sincere apology and ONLY with Screen name "TRUSTY".

Furthermore, TRUSTY should be brought before the second appeals court of the International network of usual suspects to face the charge of TROLLING without a LICENSE, being a punk in public in the second degree and:
Taking the screen name "TheUsualSuspect" a violation of the code of Usual suspects, section XIII, Paragraph 763, sub-paragraph 18, section 33, sub-paragraph, "e" which reads [in non annoited suspect translation]:
Anyperson who shall assume, use, portray, identify as, purport to be, pretend to be, wish to be, but cannot ever be, is a wannabe, but shall nevere, and who utters the term 'usual suspect', attaches said sacred term to their screen name, writes said term, attempts to enter said NETWORK thru lies, deceit, or by giving any false impression SHALL be guilty of Impersonating a USUAL SUSPECT and be punished by having an Emerson tattoo placed on their forehead, said word EMERSON spelled "EMMA's SON". Said tattoo to be done by a PROFESSIONAL artist and said Tattoo shall include the image of a BOKER top-lock folding knife. Said tattoo shall be done in dark PINK.

The following persons have been so delegated to handle this Court's sanctioned Action:
John Hollister: Supreme Judge
Eric Blair: Supreme Judge
BladeLaw: Supreme Judge

Lifter4Him: Juror
Sniper308: Foreman of the Jury
Emerson_Girl: Juror
EdMoses: Prosecutor for the USUAL SUSPECTS
Code 3: EXECUTIONER [oops jumping the gun here]
??????: VOLUNTEER for Defense Counsel

And the rest of the Suspects as technical support folks.
wolfmann601: Wannabe Suspect story-teller

LET THE TRIAL BEGIN!!!!! DENNIS....OH DENNIS

??????: VOLUNTEER for Defense Counsel

I will step up to the plate.

Should be a no-brainer.

I will present the evidence. I will state that my client is fulla s#it.
I will enter a plea of guilty, wait the 12.5 seconds it takes the jury to find him so, than join the Suspects for a beer, satisfied that the judicial system occasionally works the way it's supposed to.

Gentlebeings, I see no evidence that TheUsualSuspect is Iced Sapphire. I just became aware of this when I saw Ed Moses' post in the Service & Support forum a few minutes ago (sorry about the delay -- Spark doesn't have time to breathe right now, Blues is in the same situation, then the smoke leaked out of Ken Cook's computer, so for the moment I'm the only one available and I'm pretty short of time right now too). I read all three of TheUsualSuspect's posts as they stand now -- one was edited before I saw it, but as they stand now I see no resemblance to Iced Sapphire's writing style. They are using different ISPs and appear to be in different geographical areas, too.

Let's try not to imagine we're seeing Iced Sapphire behind every bush, huh guys?

TheUsualSuspect appears to be a genuinely new member as far as the evidence shows, and if he posted a flame or troll or something and later thought better of it and edited his post ... well, it is not clear that he is a bad guy, not as far as I can see from here. However, that was an unfortunate choice of username and it's making a bad impression. So, TheUsualSuspect, I suggest you choose a new username and register again and start over. You'll have to use a new email address to register again but you can open a new email account easily enough.

I should explain ... there was this guy using a bunch of different names to post trolls, most recently "Iced Sapphire" (sic) and he's popped up under so many names that some people are getting paranoid about him and suspecting him everywhere....

For everybody else -- Iced Sapphire has promised to change his ways, no more trolling, not to use any other name but Iced Sapphire. I am watching him, but I'd appreciate a heads-up if you see him up to anything he shouldn't be -- cougar@javanet.com

But try to keep in mind that every new member who shows up is not necessarily Iced Sapphire again....

Part of the entire mess could have been avoided had he been banned to begin with and not allowed to come back as [blank]anything.

But he was and that's life.

Nothing new about apathy on the part of Troll Control around here, eh?

Hi Mr. Allen

No disrespect to you, but didn't Iced Sap already do that once before? It' starting to sound like a broken record or a BAD case of De Ja Vu.

It's gonna be hard for us not to see Iced Sap everywhere if we know he's still allowed in here. I'm still suspecting that some maybe him from time to time but keep civil until I see any more hints but for you to ask us not to see Iced Sap everywhere but allow him to lurk amoung us is kinda.....well cheesy. (again no disrespect)

I'm sure when I say this most will agree that we like to come in here but lately with him it's not the same anymore. And as to TheUsualSuspect not being Iced that doesn't relieve him of the fact that he (very inappropriately) attacked a frequent member. I haven't checked it again recently and you say he MAY have changed/editted but that doesn't totally erase the fact that he DID it.

How the saying go? "Think twice post once" He obviously didn't do that. So I don't care if he isn't Iced or not I still stand by my vote and wish him gone, as well as Iced Sap.

Ross T.

Cougar,

Thank you for taking the time to look into this matter. My original post was not directly aimed at Iced Sapphire, but at the person that took on the screen name of "TheUsualSuspect", without even introducing themselves by their real name to the crowd.

There are a number of the Usual Suspects that only post here under a screen name, but all of them are known by their true identities (at least the one on their credit card) to the rest of the Suspects.

Regards,

Ed

Well, I will just sit back and give iced milk a tenth chance. WHY NOT:rolleyes:  I am in the process of writing a book and really, REALLY wanna be a suspect one day, so sure, give that chance he so desperately deserves:barf:

I sure am FAR from perfect. I have made thousands of mistakes in my life. generally NOT the same one twice, but then again I am NOT the Tactical one. If the person who posted as TheUsualSuspect was NOT the bad guy slayer, he sure best change his writing style and philosophy.

JUST ABOUT EVERYONE on these boards has done something they are pretty DAMN proud of. There are alot of HEROS on BF. Most remain unsung because they have done what must be done at a time when they were the ONLY one to do it. If they came out the winner, they banged down a cold shot of BOMBAY iced Sapphire and DROVE ON.

Yeah, let the troll PROVE he has GOTTEN the MESSAGE. I am not one to throw stones. But the second he engages in WANNA BE but shall NEVER be, I SHALL begin CHAPTER two of the new soap Opera: The suspect who has NO clue how to earn RE-SPECT..............wolf

it's just plain inflamatory to name yourself after a specific group on the forums, since you are then representing people who might not want you representing them.

A person using the screen name "Usual Suspect" has posted over on www.tacticalforums.com...andthe brainiac is using the same type of sig line as TTO/SM/IS...it's the "To Some They Are Accessories... To Others They Are Necessities".

Anyway...the thread is in the Real World form and it's about GSG9 boots.

I saw it and thought it was pretty funny that he found some place else to troll....what a tool.

Have a good one,

Jared

**edited because I'm a moron**

Sometimes Troll Control is not as good as it should be around here. There are a number of reasons why we fall short but the most common is just that we don't see it, or don't see it as soon as we'd like to. Bladeforums has grown so big (and keeps on growing) it's impossible for any one person to keep up with everything going on in all the forums. We have super moderators now and we're running around trying to keep on top of everything and deal with trolls and spam as fast as they appear, but most of the time we have to rely on the members and the forum moderators to keep us informed.

Re Iced Sapphire, maybe we should have banned him before now but as it stands he is on very thin ice -- he's used up all the tolerance he's gonna get. A post in the Service & Support forum will get somebody's attention, and I'm online most of the time and I usually respond pretty quickly to email. If you suspect he's posting under another name again please email me asap. There have been several accusations that turned out to be false alarms (which most of you probably aren't aware of because they were on forums you don't follow). If he posts anything objectionable as Iced Sapphire I want to know about it, too. He is not going to get any more slack.

Re TheUsualSuspect, I know he posted something objectionable because I saw responses that quoted fragments. Then he edited the post. (It doesn't hurt to save a copy of any troll you see in case that happens.) More important, that was an unfortunate choice of username -- but not necessarily with malicious intent -- maybe he didn't know how people would feel about that -- he's a newbie, after all. Maybe he edited that post, whatever it said, because after he had time to think about it he realized he shouldn't have said that. Sometimes trolls post something provocative with the intention of editing it a little later, playing games, but that's not the only reason people edit provocative posts. Sometimes in the heat of the moment people say something they regret later. Obviously he can't go on using that username because the name is objectionable in itself, but he may not be such a bad guy....

I keep saying "maybe" ... the other side of that is maybe he is a complete dork and we don't want him around here ... we'll see. If he reappears using a more appropriate name and turns out to be a contributing member, great. If he reappears under a new name and goes trolling, it will not be hard to associate him with his prior identity; we won't mistake him for a newbie. (Bladeforums as a whole is constantly gaining new members, but there aren't too many joining the Emerson Forum to keep track of, and if a new member starts anything here in the next few weeks it'll only take me a minute to compare IPs. The moderators of this forum can do that, too, and call on me for assistance any time, to ban somebody or to help with the geek stuff or whatever.)

I'll keep following this thread now I'm aware of it but I won't necessarily be aware of anything going on in other threads until somebody clues me in. Please do and I'll be right on it!

I want to apologize for the slow response. Ken Cook is a super moderator now and he's a regular here; normally he would deal with anything like this that comes up in this forum, but his computer exploded so he's offline right now. Until he's back I'll fill in the best I can, but you guys will have to keep me informed.

Cougar, you mean to say that when the Great Sparkle made you all Super Moderators he did not grant you the Super, All-seeing, All-powerful, Powers that go with position? I would get your money back.

LOL

Ed

I'm faster than a tall building -- able to jump over a bullet in a single bound -- more loco than a locomotive! But The Great Sparkle didn't grant me X-ray vision ... maybe that comes with promotion ... maybe if I polish up the apple and get promoted to Super Duper Moderator ... until then, at least I get to wear long underwear and don't have to wear a tutu....

They just told you he is trolling tactical forums with the same basic sig line he had as another name.

It's the same moron. Ban him.

Can somebody post links to the threads at Tactical Forums? The search engine there is set up so you can only search one forum at a time which would take forever, and I didn't have any luck searching that website with Google either -- is "UsualSuspect" the exact name he's using there?

I am running around like a chicken with its head cut off today -- it looks like a guy who cheated Bagheera's Scouts out of $40 worth of Glow Rings may have returned to Bladeforums and if it turns out to be him I want his butt....

Anyway, as of now TheUsualSuspect is banned, and I'm watching for him to appear again under a new name -- anybody who shows up in the next few weeks and looks like he might be a troll will be examined closely. If he changes his name and doesn't troll, no problem, right? Please drop me an email if you see anybody new who looks suspicious; it can't hurt to investigate. (BTW, he hasn't posted since the 2nd and has never posted on any other forum here. Maybe you guys drove him out already.)

Come to think of it if he's trolling at Tactical Forums I bet it's on the Emerson forum there -- I'll go search that right now.

Nothing there. If he posted anything on that forum the moderators there deleted it.

I should probably explain that's a separate website but there's a lot of overlap of membership. I have no superpowers there but I'm a member; a lot of us belong to both forums (and other knife forums too). They're run by different people but we share information; it's not uncommon for a troll to afflict several of the knife forums at once.
