Also, hit a deer/pothole/turkey/wet spot/angry freaking bee in a cage... probably not that big a deal unless you completely panic and veer off into something worse. Often expensive, but not usually deadly or disfiguring.

On a bike... good luck, friend.

I'm sure glad you're doing better. That kinda stuff is no joke.

One of my cousins (8 yrs older) took me out on his bike way back in 1965. Scared the bejeezus out of me. Have never, ever been on one since. In 24+ years as an EMT, I have scraped many a biker off the road/out of the ditch with a stick and a spoon. Saved a few, lost a bunch. Any time you have 4 wheel vehicle vs 2 wheel/3 wheel, 4 wheel wins EVERY time. 18 wheeler vs 2 wheeler, UGH!!!! You find pieces in the next county.

A friend of my sister's was killed by a turkey while riding his motorcycle. I drove a Yamaha XS400 15k miles without incident as my daily commuter. Could've helped that I commuted/rode twice that many miles on a bicycle before owning the moto and was well aware of the vulnerable nature of being on public thoroughfares operating a vehicle other than a car. Still don't think I'll own another motorcycle, tho. Met a guy the other day who races motorcycles, and he doesn't ride them on the road either, because of the danger.

I'll keep riding. We all gotta cash out sometime, in my sleep wouldn't be much fun.

Screw that. I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my Grandpa...

Not screaming in terror like the other six people in the car he was driving.

Oh my, I want 1!!

Todd, THAT is frickin' hilarious! I love it!

Ha, no big deal really, just scrap material. They are kinda fun though, I used to make several miniatures, just dont have the time anymore.

Until you put the 2 dollar bill in for scale, I just thought it was Dubs holding Cbears T.M.Hunt Hatchet

Maybe you can drop right after a big skin flute recital.

I had a big old car like that once. hardly any space in the ones they make now.

,

When everything settles down for ya, if you start getting more time and do some more of these miniatures id be in for one. Same as that one, or even no scales at all.

And now im reminded i never heard back from the guy who was supposedly making a real working mini guillotine and trebuchet. Ill have to send him another email. The trebuchet i might could go without, but if the blade on the guillotine is half decent steel ill definitely want it.

Ha, what a coincidence, I start making a guillotine a couple years ago, all hand made. About 3 ft. Tall, was gonna be quite a piece, bronze, copper, brass, furniture, all file worked with custom paint and gold leaf lettering. Got the release mechanism done but never got any furture, maybe now that I hopefully have some more time, already got fab jobs piling up, havent even made it out there yet. Lol.

Grandpa did not actually die in a car accident (I was just being a smart-alec about that), but he did drive a huge late-60's 4-door Chevy Caprice very much like this one... except in that puke-green factory metal-flake paint... as a little kid I remember being very proud of myself when I got strong enough to open those old-school door handles all by myself and act like a gentleman to open the door for Grandma or my Mom... I used to practice that when no one was lookin, like I was lifting weights or something :o Those freakin' latches didn't give up easily to a little scrawny kid's weak spindly thumbs :D

Pretty sure his was a hard-top, I've been wrong before, though... Anyway, it was so vast at the tender age of 5 or 6, when I was already quite tall for my age, I could still very comfortably sit on the arm-rest built into the middle of the front bench seat and see through the windshield quite clearly when he and Grandma took me for a ride in the country and to go get an ice cream or burger at the local drive-in. Seat belts? Never heard of 'em back then.

They sure don't make 'em like that anymore...
