Friggin snowing this morning...gotta love alberta weather. Which was ok, because we spent the afternoon at my daughters ballet recital. She did great, and her group walked away with a silver medal. Not bad for a 6 year old.

Hopefully by next week it'll be warm enough to actually get outside; getting a little stir crazy around here...

Congrats on your daughter's silver medal. And congrats on a very well done image also.

Mornin', Guys!

Does anyone play an instrument? I know James, and Dex con play extremely well, and Trade. I'm working on the Piano....:D Anyone else?

Used to....still sit down and bang on the piano from time to time. Saxophones haven't been out for a while, and that skill goes downhill pretty fast. I taught myself guitar in college, but like James be sayin', you don't play and then you can't play. I was trying to teach myself drums before I wrecked my back, and even though I have rhythm, I don't have coordination. At least not the kind necessary for drums. Why are you asking?

I can still play the guitar a little bit. I can jam on a bass guitar too. I played drums in highschool :) I've been trying to convince the wife that we need to get a kit for my son ;)

Not any more, but back in the "old days", I played trumpet/cornet, baritone, euphonium and tuba/sousaphone/street bass. Still have the baritone hiding in a closet, somewhere.

My favorite was blasting away on "Flight of the Bumblebee" on a 5 valve concert upright bass horn, especially as a practice piece before State competition as a freak-out of other bass players. :D

Play the violin and a little guitar.
I also have an angelic voice.

So I think I just started two truths and a lie.

I can play the radio...

:) When I tended bar in my college years (this was in the early 90's, long before everyone had interwebz - we had just switched over to CD's), one of my favorite customers (a super-mellow guy whom everyone liked, from the filthiest hippy to the meanest biker to the snottiest yuppie) used to proclaim proudly, "I'm a musician, too! I play... the jukebox."

He had a near-encyclopedic knowledge of classic/heavy rock and both pop or outlaw country (including B-sides and stuff that was never even released on a single/the radio), and a truly uncanny knack for picking out tunes that everyone in the whole place could get down with and have a good time together. Kind of a musical director... dang, I miss that dude.

I also have an angelic voice.

I have an "angelic" voice... if we're talkin' about those dudes who ride large American motorcycles and wear red'n'white colors... ;)

:( I miss my motorcycle.

The night I put the lights on it. Man that thing used to glow, I had a toggle switch on it for all lights on or all lights off if I was being chased :)

The wife and her bike 6-7 years ago when she used to ride with me.

Now I'm slightly depressed lol.

I'm gonna go on record here and admit that I have never had a desire to buy a motorcycle. I grew up around people who really loved 'em, I've been on 'em, I've partied with and played gigs for hardcore bikers, and I understand the appeal... but good gravy,,, I have no desire to ever again ride one anywhere near a public thoroughfare. Too many friends got really messed up because of some other moron not noticing them. I'm paranoid enough on the city streets and interstates when I'm in a car or truck...

By all means, have fun, guys... just watch out for the idiots in cages.

I was a bike mechanic for 11 year, rode every day for almost 4 years... I am ashamed to say I haven't even been ON a bike in like 4 or 5 years now.. I miss it badly..

I'm with JT on this one. I rode a little in high school and after but I don't think I'll ever ride again. Too many friends and friends of friends that have been life alteringly injured. Maybe I'm just getting old but I just don't enjoy the edge like I once did.

The first time i drove a dirt bike i wrecked it less than 200 yards from where i started.... To my credit, the kid it belonged to failed to tell me there was a front and back brake, and he failed to tell me the back brake didnt work.... He took about 30 seconds to tell me there is the handle bars and the first gear is down the rest is up.. So i took off, wrecked it into some trees and brush at the first turn because i couldnt slow down.

First time i tried to drive a motorcycle was while i was in the Army. It was a big Harley that belonged to my platoon sergeant. I laid it down on its side right in front of his house. I made it less than 50 feet... It was a big heavy bike and i weighed around 140LBS then.

I have no interests in trying a 3rd time.... Well unless one of you have a bike you need wrecked... In which case, im your man :D
