Strange, the ones I talk to said screw that guy, shrug. I was army and delopyed, my brother is a marine and deployed and of all the dudes we know NONE said who cares. Actually it is frowned upon to pretend to be something your not in the military so it makes sense the guys I know don't like frauds. Hell I still kick it with active friends every week. Guess birds of a feather flock together?

With that said, enjoy your knives. My 2cents has been added.
^ :D

Exactly! Some people here take this hobby way too seriously, & don't enjoy it.

FWIW: I have several very good USMC Iraq/Afghanistan Vet friends (who were stationed out of Camp Pendleton). We typically get together weekly (happy hour Friday at this fun Mexican restaurant in Carlsbad). These tough warrior's, were all given Strider knives for their kits. We've discussed this same topic that always seems to comes up here, when the name Strider is mentioned.

These tough USMC Veteran's who bravely fought (& some of their Semper Fi brother's unfortunately died) for our Country; most of their responses have been: who cares!

New people deserve to know that back story about Mick . I'm not throwing stones here and hope it doesn't get derailed OP and I have chatted in private and he wants to learn .

It's a strange backstory very very strange to be honest . I'll haft to do some digging but IIRC it ended up in the courts and a judge actually has prevented Mick and those claims in the selling of his knives now.

No problem-I think they took care of that on post 4&5. Eventually they all dog pile in, disrupt and close down the thread.
I'll leave it at that rather then disrupt the thread any more than I have. If someone has anything to say to me on the subject feel free to PM me-Hopefully the box doesn't get filled:)

I can't in good conscience say that there is anything wrong with the feelings people have about the company I can't. I've been on both sides of it .

It's always going to be a part of the strider discussion. People are justified in both sides of this . Trust me it took awhile for me to buy another strider ,which I only did after hearing the stories I posted about a few posts up.

It's a tough situation that Mick put himself in. End of the day though we are all human and all make mistakes

I'd really love to do a "pass around" here, with one of my Strider's. Unfortunately, I just don't have a very good feeling, that it would arrive back to me, in usable/operable condition. :D

^ I totally agree!

In all fairness, most of these Iraq/Afghanistan veteran's have way more important issues on their plate, than to spend time worrying about, Mick Strider. With the PTSD these guys struggle with (on a daily basis), most of these veterans are just trying to get through life one day at a time. When you see one of these tough dudes, having a "bad" day, it can be pretty frightening.

Back on topic:

If we're talking about knives here (Strider or CRK), it's is a win/win situation. Both are high quality knives. Apparently, this discussion/debate is now about human beings: Mick Strider vs. Chris Reeve.

BTW- how is your hand doing Spartan? I hope that everything turned out ok, at the ER.

I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only knifemaker with a felony :D

I can think of a few right here on bladeforums that are in that club lol people do make mistakes. In striders case his mistake was pretending to be what you really were. (no not a ranger in Somalia) a grunt.
I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only knifemaker with a felony :D

Me too, but I am afraid that someone might use their version of a sharpmaker on it...

You know Mike, I've always had the utmost respect for you. You've always laid your feelings/experiences on the line, without reservation. You are without a doubt, one of the most honest, candid people on this forum; you don't sugar coat anything!

FWIW: I'm proud of you, for the way you've turned your life & all the adversity you've faced, around. I honestly am always pulling for you, to stay on the righteous path.

This has to be one of the funniest posts/pictures that I've seen in awhile. This thread definitely needed an infusion of humor, RG...

BTW- that's exactly what I would envision a few of these guys using, to sharpen my SNG with. :D

Thanks!

Strider knives aren't usually an issue. Unrepentant liars taking your money and telling you to lick their sack turns a lot of people away.

Lucky for them, they always have lots of strider bros and other unscrupulous folks racing to their defense

anyone who hasn't read this, should.
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/453852-Mick-Strider-has-some-explaining-to-do

That is indeed a good read. Anyone considering a strider should take that information under consideration.

The Main difference between CM and Mr Buger is CM is Not a Poser POS !!( and you fan-boys need to get off that " Mistake " bullsh!t )

Like I said knives! People :)

Not the peeps behind the knives (although I'd rather them not be from a piece of sh!t).

That being said. Remember I will probably buy both if not more lol

And I think we can close this
