This guy doesn't like beckers.....

I'd like to quote my 6 year old daughter with respect to the article..."Your just foolish, you don't know what your talking about!"

No need to sing praise to the 2 as we all know what it is capable of. Hell of a good knife... Thanks Mr Becker for a great all around knife.

This dude it a knife snob.
being an overland guy, I'd dare say that his jeep or land rover is not riding on stock (small) tires or suspension. He probably has a 12000 lb winch on all four corners, snorkel kit 2 spare tires, a hi-lift jack or three,12volt refrigerator 400 watt inverter....and still has the audacity to say the BK2 is overbuilt!

I like whipping it out in public.

Sometimes I have my BK2 with me........

Moose

Hioooo.

The BK2 (like most knives) is a tool. I obviously don't need to tell you guys this. If i wanted to go on a "weight nazi" backpacking trip, i wouldn't take it. but, if i needed to build a duck blind, then i certainly would bring it along. i knew it would be good at that. and it was. in fact, it may have been the gooderest.

it excels at clearing brush, elephant grass, cutting back branches, etc...while still being a knife.

What is with people and weight? "It ways one pound!" Where did all the nancy gram counters come from that think 1 lb is a heavy? The BK2 feels light in my hand and not large by any means. Other knives feel small and brittle compared to the BK2. I don't ever have to worry about breaking my knife or damaging it, and that's because it feels like a tool! I mean obviously if you only plan on using your knife to pick your nails and open your dehydrated mac and cheese then yeah you don't need a BK2. But then again if you're not using your knife for a variety of tasks then why are you writing reviews for all different kinds of knives and comparing them to each other? This guy is an idiot.

Excellent point. The same way some people focus too much on blade thickness is the same some people focus too much on weight. The bK2 just flat out performs. If its a hair thicker or a hair heavier, that is not even mildly interesting to me. Besides I work out.

I know gear and weight snobs that always say "ounces equal pounds, pounds equal pain." Some people take this way too serious. I work out and make sure my cardio is decent so I'm not too worried about a 1lb knife. I'd be far more ticked off, and potentially bad off, if my knife broke in the field.

Side note, tueller did you choose that name based on the drill? I love the tueller drill.

Exactly what I was thinking. People compromise on all kinds of things, this dude's just foolish enough to settle on lesser knives. Probably drives a JK:D.

If you click on his name you can see some of the other products this dude has reviewed. A quick glance told me he has no business reviewing any sort of knife. Let alone a Becker.

Ummmm

I have big tires, a modified suspension, hi lift, and an inverter on (both of) my TJ's... And I have a 2 what does that make me? Consistent?

Dude's entitled to his opinion, even if it is really F'd up. He did his own test and he didn't like it. Oh well, that many more BK-2s for the rest of us.

I batonned a banana.
Haha, good one.
If you baton wood with a stick, does that mean you baton a banana with another banana (or Plantain)??

He says in his article,"I’m convinced the designer of the Becker had an LMF-2 for comparison."
Wouldn't the 'designer' of the Becker be.....Becker? Maybe I'm overthinking it.

This guys holier-than-thou condescending tone made me completely disregard everything he was saying. "Oh those stupid forum idiots with their discussions about being stuck in the wilderness with only 1 knife are beneath me". I understand that he is entitled to his opinion, but I didn't like how he was essentially saying anyone with a different opinion is an idiot. It was glaringly obvious that he has never actually been lost in the woods or in some type of survival situation. People need to realize that BUSHCRAFT DOES NOT EQUAL SURVIVAL.

Due to my own stupidity, I found myself lost in the woods for nearly 2 days and ill-equipped in not-so-great weather (no tent, no sleeping bag, etc). In that environment, I had enough to worry about, thankfully I didn't have to be concerned with the possibility of my "useless" prybar knife breaking in half while I was batoning half the forest to keep a fire going all night.

The 2 definitely isn't for everyone....but it is far from useless
