This is a Cigar Thread

That post of yours got me addicted to cigarbid.com, which is VERY VERY BAD for my wallet. especially now that I have a cooler-dor with lots of space.

oh, and the "duffel bag" was packed with Astral 2nds:D

Dude, bid low. It doesn't cost anything to bid.

I make "this-would-be-a-great-deal-if-I-got-it-a-this-price" bids. Most of the time I lose, but sometimes I win. I've got about 300 cigars.

Let's keep this thread going...

Does anyone have a relative humidity preference beside 70/70?

I like mine a tad drier; about 65% at 70 degrees.

I'm also careful not to keep my humidification system too wet because, when I was a newbie, I used to get a lot of hard-draw cigars which, in hind-sight was from over-humidified cigars. So, I try not to go too harsh with the humidity and tend to do everything slow and easy humidity-wise.

Last night I was doing some reading about how, many years ago, in London, the thing to do was to let cigars slowly dry out over a period of 5 years or so. Later, they all changed over to humidifying their cigars instead. It was pretty interesting reading.

He he, natural humidity in Veracruz is around 75%, not much to do about it, no need for a humidor either.

But now I am not in Veracruz, it's usually about 45% here in Mexico City, I like it above 70%, even close to 80%, I have a higrometer, a cheap one that needs frequent calibration but I don't use it much, I guess that after some 34 years of daily smoking I've learned to feel: pressure, sound, smell, whatever...

Cool. You can just leave them out on the kitchen table. I'd have cigars all over the place. Or just panel my house with cedar.:D

I love a good cigar (La Gloria Cubana ) & a Maker's Mark! Here is my latest cigar ashtray. Enjoy. Sorry I slobber on my stoggies.

Question: what's a good buck-a-smoke?

I'm trying to get my friend to stop smoking Dutch Masters. he keeps saying he dosen't have the money to do the hand-rolled/made thing. I say "bullsh!t", but he persists. so I bought a bought a bunch of buck-a-stick type 5-packs on cbid and a logo humidor for a birthday gift.

Problem is, it's freezing outside, and I can't smoke inside (I don't like to anyway). I tried to smoke one and it (predictably) blew up in my hands.

When I started out. I smoked Oro Cubano's, I still like them.

I also picked up some:

Luna's
Duque's
1876 reserve's
Liga's
Joya del Jefe Connecticut's

Anybody got any opinion's on the above brands? The weather sucks too bad to form my own. Any others I might want to consider?

Haven't tried those.

For good smokes for a buck try:
Baccarat
Vegas 5

An ashton Maduro is always a nice way to enjoy one's collection at the end of a long day IMHO.

Partagas Cifuentes (winter ltd edition) in the January size, nice medium body, beautiful caramel flavor profile

I also picked up some:

Luna's- Not Bad
Duque's- Very Very Bad
1876 reserve's- Not Bad
Liga's- Not Good
Joya del Jefe Connecticut's Not Good

I did some more pre smoke research. It's not looking good. then again, I'm only out $8 total:o

Let's keep this thread ALIVE!

(I don't work for this company. This is a SERIOUS recommendation.)

I've tried many a way to carry cigars, but THIS is the single best travel humidor I've found. I carry it in my leather jacket pocket and it fits into my carry bags very well.

It holds 4 50-60 guage cigars easily, and holds 5 cigars if they're smaller. It's totally tough and airtight. It has a humidifier, but it's not really neccessary since it's airtight and the cigars are already humidified to begin with.

I've held 5 cigars + several cigarellos in this thing at the same time on a Friday night.

If you like coats/jackets with big inside pockets like I do, then you're set.

I have a cheap but decent airtight metal tube by "The Griffin" somewhere but I can't find it now ... truth is I don't use it much.

Here's my leather cigar case, not airtight, no humidifier, but when I carry cigars they don't last long enough to dry...
