This is a Cigar Thread

Thanks to Jim, I smoked the Acid Nasty from their red line. Very flavorful and awsome with a nice old rum. I think I have a new favorite smoke.

Great thread guys! I used to smoke cigars some. When I did I usually enjoyed a Hoya De Nicaragua robusto. I've tried all kinds of them, and generally got pretty lucky when picking them. Last time I bought any real volume was the remainder of a box of A. Fuente Short Story's. Neat little smoke that I liked. I couldn't even tell you if they still make them. If you get a chance, try them. Haven't had a good cigar in about 4 years now. This thread is making me remember how much I enjoyed it! -Matt-

Oh boy a cigar thread. I had a Perdomo Camaroon last week that was excellent. I also like the CAO Camaroon. It's pretty much the only CAO I like. Does anyone have a recommendation for a Camaroon cigar that is good and not too expensive?

Bump.

Has anyone tried Don Pepin Garcia?

They're hot right now.

I had one. It was SO flavorful and complex, so I bought some samplers so I can try others.

They're SUPPOSED to be the closest legally-acquired cigars to Cubans. Not that I know. I've tried two Cubans and was drunk both times. (I won't make that mistake again if I can ever get my hands on another Cuban.)

The closest I have ever had to real Cubans are the Fuente Opus X, the Padron 1964 series, the first run of the Churchill sized Dominican Davidoffs (tasted just like a London bought Cohiba Esplendido) and the original batch of Cuba Aliados Churchills that came out in the early 90's. With this said, my favorite current cigars are the Opus and Padrons for non-Cuban and Punch-Punch, Trinidad Fundedor and Romeo y Julieta Churchills in the aluminum tube for Cubans.

Rey del Mundo - Choix Supreme is my favorite cigar, even though they are legal in canada they are taxed very heavily so it's hard to justify smoking a 21.00 regularly. For a non-cuban i like the CAO brazilia.

Doesn't sound good for me. I prefer milder cigars. Maybe I won't like the others in the Pepin sampler?

I'm hoping to get my hands on a Cuban Montecristo someday. I can ALWAYS count on (legal) Montecristos for mild, flavorful, smokes. I hear their Cuban counterparts are similarly mild.

Forget Don Pepin's regular stuff, go with the Tatuaje Havana VI. Not expensive at all and GREAT flavor. Strong though.

Opus X is pure raw strongness, no finesse, you could do MUCH better, a la La Flor Dominicana Double ligeros

just trying to keep the thread alive. I tried using my pocketknife to cut a V. It works great, much better draw and I thought it tasted better. I noticed a lot of subtle flavors in my A Fuente maduro. It did get a little hot towards the end.

The Opus X has no finesse? Not!

Yes, it is a strong cigar, but it is every bit as good as any Cuban.

Another high end great cigar is the Partagas Limited Reserve.

My three favorite every day cigars are:

1. Montecristo.

2. La Gloria Cubana.

3. Romeo Y Julieta.

I know that this is cruel to do to you guys but did someone mentioned Cuban Cigars?

Cuban and Dominican Cigars.

Yep, the spoils of being overseas. Sorry if I caused any tears. LOL.
