This just in ~ from España • The Navajas of ArtesaniaHerreros

OK, some better results today.
Last night's photo session was less than I'd hoped. Probably because I had a few drinks and thought I was a super photographer :p I wasn't.

Thanks for liking my post guys, but these are a bit better.
I also removed the lanyard as some folks don't like them.
I emailed them to you Jose' ArtesaniaHerreros ArtesaniaHerreros
Use as you like; no credit necessary :)

Nice pics, Don.

Thanks guys. I don't break out the camera too often now that I have a phone always at the ready, but phones cant always capture the romance of a good navaja :)
I hope Jose' likes them.
Be neat to visit his site in a bit and see our handiwork helping his customers. I'm thankful to be one of them.

Glad you like the pictures. I enjoyed trying different lenses and playing with the exposure.
The piston navaja is very photogenic, yes ?

Mine is in my pocket right now, and I use it. I may not use it the same way a rancher or warehouseman might use it, since I have an office job. I do keep it in a pouch in my pocket. A leather slip would also work.

Im ordering one,and plan to use it everyday, mine will me in 12c27,love that steel, and maybe next one will be in 1095 or c75.12c27 behaves like carbon steels, but is stainless and when heat treated around 60rc is amazing.

I've ordered another which will be more a user than my first one - though that one has seen plenty of knife action. You are right - they are pretty - but José builds his navajas to use. Ask him ;)

440c is very good steel when heattreated properly, many pple underestimate it because a lot of crappy knivel labeled as 440c that are something else.Buck 440c that they used before was excellent, also 440c in some of knives from Solingen Germany is very good .

José has been making knives professionally for all his adult life - AND HE's OLD - :( Started in the biz when he was only 13.
Years and years of experience building exceptional cutlery. I think he's got the heat treat figured out.

Buy with confidence Grasshopper ;)

Yes, buy with confidence. But he is NOT old: he's about my age. :)
