In all fairness, this was thicker than a steel band/strap. I'd agree though. I think d3v would have faired better in this situation.Considering folks have used EDCs to cut the steel bands/straps on pallets of heavy goods with no edge damage, I think the D3V would've probably fared better.
Thanks for sharing. I think the advantages of MC over D3V for most folks, is going to be in a somewhat narrower use-case.
Yes, Sir! I really like them!!Is that the new Scarlet Linen (Buffed)? Looks most excellent![]()
Hello! If I’m calculating correctly on the sale thread, I’m post 22 and three individuals passed! I might get to come hang out with you.
It seems I should get a swedge, but don’t know what scales I’m going to choose.
Most probably the usual suspects and the new additions of Red Linen (scarlet), Double Red canvas, and tri-color canvas as per Jo's post yesterday in another threadHello! If I’m calculating correctly on the sale thread, I’m post 22 and three individuals passed! I might get to come hang out with you.

Is it your first CPK?I’m torn between D3V or Magnacut. Someone talk me out of MagnaCut![]()
No, I have an mc too, but it’s a safe queen. The DEK will be a user, but I live in the Canadian PNW, so corrosion resistance is a key feature for me. Does d3v really hold up that well? I know the reports on it say it does, but I don’t have any experience with it in that regard myself. Is it your first CPK?
Carothers has a named heat treat for 3V, that’s what I’m going with!
I was in New Zealand for 3 weeks during abnormally wet conditions. No, I have an mc too, but it’s a safe queen. Yes it does. If you totally neglect it you’ll get some patina but a bare minimum of keeping it clean and dry and it will be fine. I have a light chopper that’s been used for years, put away with wet grass and sap etc on it and it’s not pristine but it’s not bad either. No, I have an mc too, but it’s a safe queen.
