I was wondering what pre-production meant, I know Nathan highlighted that the models shown in the original DEK1 Pre Order had slight variations in tooling, around the lanyard hole and something else, but I was curious if there were many Pre-production DEK1s made, if they were limited like a prototype or a small first batch, anyone know anything about them?

The DEK1 itself has double black scales and is acid washed, looks great, one of the first with acid wash, maybe the first but that's difficult to confirm.

Great to have a knife with provenance. Came from the June 5th 2020 sale.

Probably will one day like everything else. But it hasn't been used for three years, the previous owner kept it in their collection as a safe queen. I may do the same. I may try and find another as a beater and keep the finish fresh on this one. I may well join the safe queen club, like so many.

I use traditionals mostly for my cutting tasks these days.
