This Years Holiday Tins

I have not yet found them at the wally stores in CA. Last year they did not put them out until the day after thanksgiving. So......maybe they will do the same this year!!!!!! I have been at two local wally stores and one that is 100 miles north of here. I'll keep looking ;) .

John...
I say we head up I-5 towards Red Bluff to their distribtuon warehouse off the interstate.
You distract the folks with some chatter about the BCCI Post Falls gig in 2008 or something. I'll "borrow the goods". Meet cha at the border...trust me.

Here's our plan as taken from the song "Banditos" from The Refreshments (which I happeded to buy the Wal-Mart near there and was my first visit to the chain)...

Well give your ID card to the border guard.
Yeah your alias says you’re Capt. Jean-Luc Picard
Of the United Federation of Planets...

So meet me at the mission at midnight, we'll divvy up there...

Well I got the pistol so I'll keep the pesos.
Yeah and that seems fair.

Anyway, I wonder if Joe or anyone else from Buck can tell us how many were made. Certain they know, but it's probably a family secret like Bush's Beans.

Still none in NY yet....there is a Leatherman knife -tool pack display but no bucks yet......

My local Wal-Mart put one of each out next to the sporting goods cash register saying that you need to get an associate to get you one from under the counter. Looks like to me someone could just take that one if no one was around. And then no display. Bought the 112 but really disliked the color on the redbones. Good luck searching.

The holiday tin program for Wal Mart that you are all refering to is just that, every Wal Mart store places them in their stores at their managers descretion, I know they like to get them out at least by Turkey day, the comments you are hearing about once they are gone they are gone are true, we only made so many and there will not be anymore made so get them quick, the stamp was special for Wal Mart and the sheath was upgraded from last year based on all the feedback we received on blade forums, see we do listen. Happy hunting

May I ask how many of those boxed 112's went out to Walmart. :)

Tom

Thanks Phil D .....I pass about four Walmarts by home and for work, so I will be stopping everyday for awhile.......

The only reason why I went to Walmart was to buy this 112 you were all writing about. I bought it and will buy more, I really like it. I wish a nice tan leather sheath would have came with it. I would have paid more for that option.

I called all the WW in my area. Only one had the tins. Picked one up this morning. A real solid knife for $25.00 Hopefully they will have a bunch leftover after Christmas and I can pick up a few cheap ones.

The Wal-Mart in Marion, IL. has pulled them off the floor and put them in the back. If you ask in Sporting Goods, they will get you one, but they were selling to fast and they want to have some for XMASS shoppers.

If anybody find this available in So California WalMarts, could you pls share the info? thanks

Uh-huh...yeah...OK...That sounds like those Wal-Mart peckerheads...

They don't want dedicated collectors willing to drive to another *city* to buy them, in a store they don't frequent, for whatever price is posted...but they will let them out to Xmas shoppers who are in the store anyway and couldn't give a rats ass except it would make another box under the tree... :grumpy:

Is it any wonder Wal-Mart gets slapped with million-dollar lawsuits, and is indicted for violations of the state & federal labor laws?... WTF are those CEO's, CFO's, and RMO's thinking of??? :thumbdn:

well i jest checked at ours here in martinsburg wv and they dont have the 112 in any thing but do
" have both winchester and some bucks in plastic boxes" ?
such smart sales people...

I was in a local Walmart today and found two of what I would assume are this years holiday specials. One is a 112 packaged in a tin with a Hoyt Buck commemorative etch on the blade. The other is two knife set which contains a 372 Muskrat and a 380 Mini Trapper, both with jigged red bone scales, also packaged in a tin. I realize the slip joints are offshore production but they do make a nice looking set. Both tins were priced at $25. Happy Holidays to all. :)

Tom

Thanks a million for the heads up Tom. You are all right.

I was able to pick thru a dozen of each Holiday Buck pack, Woodburn WW, and bot 2 of each. One set for me and one set for a gift. I feel very fortunate after reading the "no joy" posts. Thank you again. And, Happy Holidays right back atcha!

While you are at WW you might see if you can find the new 3 watt AA Minimag LEDs (less than $25 with sheath), dang are they bright, and/or the new and improved Dorsy 1AAA LED (about $6). You can find reviews for both lights at candlepower forum. I just got the Minimag today. I need the Dorsy model 41-4222 still. No need to come away from a WW search empty-handed.:D ;)

I just checked out our Local WalMart and they had both Buck tins for $25, Winchester box and 2 Remington boxes for $20. I guess people can decide what to get. They had over 100 boxes of the Buck tins.

A man, a total stranger, who was looking at the 112's came up to me and said that is a great deal, I remember buying one 30 years ago for the same price.

Finally showed up at a WalMart not too far from where I live.

The Muskrat and small trapper are really beautiful and really well made (wish they were US made - c'est la vie).

The 112 looks good, of course, and is a great deal.

There were well over 100 in the display; I bought one of each. I may have to go back later and get another of the 2 slipjoints.

I now have 14 Buck knives and my wife thinks I'm nuts.

Dean

I have 76 Bucks but got rid of the wife.......the Bucks are much more fun than she was.....lol
