Threating banishment.

I learned a long time ago to not get upset over things online. I used to though, but I did manage to stop taking it seriously. If I can with my quick tempered Irish and Scottish makeup I bet you could too, Purple dc.

Point observed and noted. Thank you. I think everything has been said. Unless there is anything anyone else needs to add.

You missed editing your first post in this thread , your description of why you have a thread in W&C is incorrect.

Thanks !

Trust me. I understand. Irish-Norwegian here.

wow. A moderator. thank you.

A human. You've made your point and taken your stand against the abuse. Taking the high road, as you did with Jill, is commendable. Try to glean what constructive criticism you can from the feedback you've received. If you care to have your opinions heard you'll tailor your message to the audience. If your opinions aren't popular, all the more reason to consider the audience and tactfully raise the issue.

Edit: I'm glad to see you've made your peace. Good luck with everything here. It's a great place, but not perfect.

I guess the last thing that needs to be said is a public apology to those I upset. Trust me, I fully understand that Im not the easiest person to get along with at times. Im very opinionated and stubborn. And stubborn to a fault. Many times I will defend my position even if all signs are pointing and telling me not too. Its one of my character defects. I dont expect anyone to hug it out with me and become friends. Im aware that when some are rubbed the wrong way there is no going back. This message is for my own piece of mind. I am sorry though for letting this get out of hand and for me blowing it up bigger than it is. And quite honestly if I was watching someone else say the things Ive said and act the way ive been acting I would have taken the same position as many of you.

I do want to say that yes, I do contradict people a lot. I love debate. I like exploring every possible facet of a discussion. But with the internet its very hard to read what someone has typed and interpret the emotion behind those words. I very well can see someone reading my posts and interpreting my motive as anger or combativeness. It is not I assure you. Im simply passionate. I have opinions and feel strongly about them. My goal is never to change someones mind and make them think like me. My goal at best is to simply make my opinion be heard and have people acknowledge that opinion and accept it whether they like it not. Because even when i dont like something. I like to know as much about it so that its an informed dislike. My own tact though it would seem needs work. I took a break from the forum and forgot my place in things. So seriously to everyone Im sorry. Including you Karda. When it seems the whole world is pointing the finger at you calling you an A-hole sometimes your first reaction is to fight back and cry heresy. But when the whole world seems like they are against you you really come to a point where you look at the situation and realize its not the world that is against you. It was that I was against myself. Im not saying I agree with how some people handled themselves. Im simply saying that I could have and should have handled myself better. And apologies it took as long as it did to realize it.

I am not on anyones side here but. I just happend along this thread and purple's comments have been abnoxious at times but you will have members like that. But I will be honest moderators saying STFU on this thread is kind of ridiculous. I've been in the military over ten years and the word professionalism comes to mind. You gentleman and ladies are what I consider the professionals of the forums. I dont think in a regular thread not W and C that is really the right way to present the image of a moderator. Dont get me wrong I have no personal bad experience with any moderator on this forum at all. I understand you might get po at a poster but if you dont keep it proffesional what separates you from what your trying to moderate.

This is a common misperception a lot of people make.
As a sitewide moderator, the blue crew must maintain a bit of decorum and professionalism, yes. In most forums. W&C not being one of them.
Red, forum specific moderators are only obligated to watch over and moderate specific areas of the site to maintain order.
The real difference between a member and a moderator is that we have even more rules and responsibilities to follow than the average poster.
We are also people and hobbyists here also. We are entitled to discussion and our own opinions as any other member.
The other misperception that some people make is when we are moderating and when we are discussing as members.
People argue that we are obligated to a higher standard. This only applies when when moderating. Most here take that obligation seriously and do a fine job of it, even in the face of aggravation and petulance.

It was hoped that you would take the various hints and direction you were given.
People point their finger and call me a-hole every day, probably. My parrot calls me a-hole. He also tells me he loves me.
I don't let it bother me, because they are entitled to their opinion as am I. Those that know me know I can be when pushed into it, but as a matter of course am not. The only ones that really knows me are my few friends, my family and that blasted, foul mouthed a- hole bird whom I consider as great a friend as any human.

Apology accepted.

My morning routine. Have caffeine, feed the dog, call Karda an a-hole.

Good to see people seem to be calming down a bit. PURPLEDC, my advice from earlier still stands. If I were you, I'd just avoid the dramatic W&C posts in your honor. I don't know what happened to cause it, but if you check the history of that forum you'll see how often they pop up and how they all go. I'd also give the same advice to those starting the troll threads. Starting a thread just to call somebody an a-hole or whatever and then throwing a little internet tantrum when they post in it is stupid. Get a hobby.

You too? :D

Now that the morning sun has arisen, coffee has been downed, and the ill effects of yesterday's molar removal and three fillings worn off - I'd like to take a moment to apologize to anyone I may have offended with my use of colorful language last night.

Good to see issues have been at last been kicked to the curb and pride seasoned and eaten.

Hope to see you post more positive comments (also maybe donate to the site while you are at it since you've added to infrastructure costs... cough cough shameless guilt trip cough cough).
PS: Try some 1 Steak sauce to season pride. Goes well with some mashed tatoes as well.
