I saw Jeepers Creepers on TV last night. They needed a 20MM, a bazoka, RPG, and the Marlin 45/70 Cowboy rifle.

Yours will last but a brief period. Mine have last for months, at least!

I was thinking about Robinson Crusoe, where he talks about finding the carpenters chest.

*shrug*

Given "unlimited" they never run out and have killed more than all the chisels in history. :D

AK 47 Pistol 8" barrel
HK 91 (slim grip & collapsable stock)
Cold Steel Matnum Tanto XII 12" blade(San Mai III)
All are Reliable. All are deadly. All are capable of doing more than most will ask of them. Big Power in small packages. One could pack all three and not be overly burdened while taversing difficult terrain such as mountains, desert, or bomb ravaged cities. AK pistol: devestating at close range, more so than typical pistol including .45 while being very reliable, common parts and ammo plus countless magazine availability. HK 91: accurate like M14., reliable, manuverable in tight quarters, good for long range, and packable. Cold Steel Tanto: simple, strong, stays sharp, can be used for chopping wood or to clear paths. Also small enough to clean game or use in self defense as a short sword. There are probably better combos for different situations, but this combo is decent for all situations.

First rifle Model 700 remington sandero .300 win mag (long range)
Second rifle either sks or an ak 47 almost as dependable as and HI khukris(short range with bayonet for close encounters)
Third knife 18" 30 ounce AK (overall survival and possible last resourt wepon)

Slightly different selection as in scotland getting a firearm wouldn't be that easy

Barnett Commando crossbow for the zombies

B2 air rifle for filling the pot

16.5" WWII for everything else

not being a believer in "unlimited" supplies that last forever.

I would want:

a .22LR Martini Cadet SS.
9mm broom handle Mauser
air rifle using .30 or .40 cast balls and powered by a hand pump.
Swedish Hunter's Axe with 16" handle
2 - 4 1095 lamb skinners (green river styles)

Not everybodies choice, just mine.

Love this thread guys!!!
Given very (to the power of a hundred ) restrictive gun laws that exist in this country which seem to be based on three premises...
To whit

1.Handguns are an invention of THE DEVIL !
2.Big bore semi-auto military style battle rifles likewise !
3.Joe Public has no right to own either !

therefore my choices would be...

1.Marlin mod 39 lever action .22 lr for the (relatively) low cost and light in hand feeding requirements that are a given with the twenty-two. Funny thing is that even the humble .22 comes in for a plentitude of legal restrictions if it is a self loader with greater than ten round mag capacity!!! Apparently the powers that be have no clue whatsoever just how quckly a practiced man can empty a model 39 (18+1 round magazine) if circumstances dictate. So much for the restrictions on semi autos (bah humbug!). And while we are on the subject, have you seen just how quickly a trained man can empty a .303 calibre bolt actioned short magagzine Lee Enfield if he has the proper motivation!!However ammo for one of these is heavy, expensive, and getting harder to find in any quantity,

2.The heaviest longbow I can shoot accurately with a goodly number of arrows.I fully expect to be still whittling my own arrows long after available supplies of ammo have dwindled to nought.Hence the choice of a low-tech longbow rather than the high-tech high performance compound bow that throws a much faster arrow but is much harder,if not actually impossible to feed in a make-do E.O.T.W. scenario.

3.Himalayan Imports 18' W.W.II ;guess this choice doesn't need any explanation!!!.

'spose that just about covers it

If I had to maintain my ammo supply 1st choice: I need to be able to move quickly and carry lots of ammo. Can't beat the .22 Ruger for hunting and hitting cantelope sized targets at 75+ yards.

If I had to maintain my ammo supply Second choice: Have the .22 pistola for hunting. But for more medium range firepower, the 7.62x39 is nimble and points well for me ...albeit with the cost of more weight in ammo to hump around.

Unlimited Ammo/ like a Video Game choice: If I was stationary or had a magic vehicle that didn't run out of fuel or maybe a horse, I'd take my main battle rifle and 1911. This setup would be too heavy to carry lots of ammo and hump long distances in a short period of time.

Kiora Nigel!
I am actually in Canada. My Czech rifle in 7.62x39mm has a 19" barrel made for the Canadian market. They are available to Canadians with an unrestricted firearm licence. :)

In Canada, restricted firearms licences are for handguns, AR-15s and any gun that has a barrel less than 18.5".

Is that revolver .357 mag? If it is I think I have it. And I also have that .22.
Personally, my choices would be 12 Guage shotgun, .357 magnum, and a hatchet (hopefully I can have a SAK in the pocket?).

Yes it is a Ruger GP100 .357 mag/.38 special. I could use it as a boat anchor, shake out the water and still hit a small pumpkin at 50 metres. Very rugged, dependable and easy to maintain.

I thought about the shotgun for its versatility, but decided against it because its ammo is too bulky.

Cheers!

12 gauge shotgun, capable of being fed different length rounds.
.357 magnum revolver.
Bowie knife, 9-11" blade.

Every time an old thread is bumped and I see a post by Rusty, I smile a little. I miss him.

My expertise with logistics can be summed up in two sentences: "Let's get some more," and, "I'm not carrying all this crap by myself." Did we ever get the beer problem sorted out?

Thank you for clearing up the geographic location for me Monte. Hope I didn't touch a sensitive spot. However I still envy you!
